Any tips to beat extreme tiredness?

Just hit 23 weeks pregnant. Am totally exhausted. I do work full time and have a toddler so I expected things to be a bit harder but really didn't expect this. Luckily I have a very supportive family but I know I'm going to need them more than ever after the baby is born and I'm trying to not take the piss! My BP is very low but the midwife didn't think there was anything I could do about that. Also my iron is low. Any tips as to what I can do to get a little more energy would be greatly appreciated! I'm literally struggling to do anything other than lie down. I've been putting off a shower all weekend.

It's really hard, I've had low BP and low iron at different times so I can only imagine how difficult the combination is. Very icy drinks help me stay awake mentally but the physical exhaustion is hard to combat. I think salt can raise blood pressure, which may be why I was craving salty things throughout first trimester when mine was low. How long have you been on iron? I was exhausted for so long but once they kicked in I got to a more functional level of tiredness!

I feel the same! I have 16 month old and 15 year old and work 3 full days a week after going back from maternity. No way I could do full time.
I’ve just got a cleaner and I’m having the ironing picked up and they bring back as I’ve got a 3 story house and I just can’t keep up anymore I am so tired I can’t keep eyes open and have no energy for anything.
I’m going to ask them to test me as sure I must be anemic as wasn’t this tired this early with my little boy.

I would do everything you can to get your iron levels up. This will be making a massive difference to your energy levels. Remember that your body also needs vitamin C to actually absorb the iron.
I must say also that I think pregnancy and work with a toddler is more exhausting than toddler and newborn on maternity leave so don’t feel bad about needing help now.

I was like this until i started taking 2 spatone sachets a day (liquid iron) after a week i felt 100% better after a week and still am now at 35 weeks. Hope you feel better soon x
