Hi guys,

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area of the board.

Myself and my other half will be going to Cornwall in a few weeks, only thing is we haven't decided what part is the nicest to visit.

I'm currently 5 months pregnant, so ideally I'd prefer somewhere that wasn't too hilly/doesn't require too much walking. I'd love somewhere scenic, pretty and lively.

I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone could give me.

Thank you Smile

St Ives, it’s great, lovely atmosphere, nice places to eat and one of my favourite places

Rock and Padstow are both lovely and really well located - loads to see and do (and eat!!) around there.

Everywhere in Cornwall is hilly 😝
Also everywhere is probably pretty lively right now because there are tourists everywhere!
It is also carnival season so there’s loads going on (many places have a whole week run-up to their carnival with lots of events happening)

Cornwall is full of nice places to visit! It depends what your interests are / what you'd like to do though?

St Ives is lovely but will be heaving at this time of year, so only go if you don't mind crowds.

Do you have dogs or other dcs? How far down are you willing to travel. It’s a good 1.5hrs between Bodmin and Penzance on the a30.
Everywhere is hilly.
towns which are relatively lively.
Falmouth, st ives, padstow. These aren’t as hilly either.

St Ives ticks the boxes, but it's incredibly busy, expensive and doubt you'll get anywhere (especially with parking). Carbis Bay has some lovely spa hotels I believe if you want some r and r.

Falmouth nice and Padstow. Tintagel is beautiful but best done when you can do some walking.

Your main touristy places like St Ives and Newquay are heaving this time of year. Don't go.

Perranporth is amazing - huge beach. Very close to Newquay but not as busy.

Praa Sands is also wonderful. Nowhere near as busy, lovely sandy beach. Little cafe there too. My fave beach in all of Cornwall. Halston is the nearest town.

Gwithian is lush as well. Just outside of Hayle. Hayle isn't so nice but Gwithian is right on a lovely beach.

Avoid Newquay, St Ives, Redruth, Camborne and Penzance (PZ is alright but not spectacular).

Hey! I'm a local, and at a similar stage in my pregnancy too! There are so many lovely places to chose from! Just be prepared for the A30, it gets VERY busy and slow in the summer. Try to take alternative routes but also be prepared for narrower roads and lanes. Best beaches with level access/short walk from parking include Porthtowan, Praa Sands and Marazion. Gwithian is my favourite but it is a bit of a climb getting back up to the car park. Check out the Jubilee Pool in Penzance, there are some lovely places in the area to visit such as the Tremenere Sculpture Gardens and Mousehole. The Headland Hotel in Newquay is gorgeous, as is the Carbis Bay Hotel. Falmouth is lovely for a stroll, there's lots going on there over the summer. The Greenbank Hotel is fab for afternoon tea too ☺️

Bude is my favourite. Beach in the town centre and everything relatively flat and easy to get to. Great sunsets and surf and cliff walks if your feeling up to it

Falmouth, but I’m biased as I live just outside of it! Loads going on, lively and some nice water based things to do. Some good NT and garden attractions nearby but they’re all hilly as they’re usually valleys leading down to water. Eg Trebah, glendurgan, trelissick.

I second Falmouth.

Lush down there. Loads of great shops. Lovely restaurant and pubs. Lovely walks along the Gylly beach. They've got the Princess Theatre too if you want to go see a play or stand up comedy. Martime museum is also there. They've also got a cinema.

I've always had such a great time there.
