Im 12+2 so early days but I’ve seen a nearly new bargain on Facebook and seems too good to miss! But I feel it’s way too soon! My friend can store it (superstition!!). Just thinking I’m getting ahead of myself. I’ll be a single mum so need to make savings where possible and this would be my biggest purchase I’d be saving on. Xx

I ordered mine at 28 weeks (we had a lot of issues surrounding our 20 week scan som held off) and dh picked it up when dd was 2 days old.

@Giraffe888 oh my goodness! That was early! Glad you got a bargain though! Xx

Wasn’t it just! It was more DH’s idea than mine but I went along with it. I’m 36wks now so it will soon be put to use!

Infants need a completely lie-flat pram because even if the seat is at a slant or upright it’s bad for them.

It shocks me that so many parents nowadays put their infants in a pram that can be used from baby to toddler to save a few hundred quid. No idea how companies are allowed to sell those types of pranks bc infants need a completely lie flat pram and mattress to properly support them.

take a look at the silver cross prams for example, it’s a mattress and completely lie flat. I don’t expect you to afford it because not many people can but there are cheaper alternatives that are also lie flat if you have a search online.

Also just came across lie flat car seats! Epic!

Ordered it at 11 weeks in January sale, only paid 25% deposit then the rest after 20 week scan, and they held it for me until 31 weeks as didn't want it taking up space! Haven't seen as good a deal since (10% off and free car seat which is usually separate) so I'm glad we did it that way!

Squirrel, most of those are sold with carrycots which DO have a completely flat, mattress covered surface for a newborn. And Silver Cross don't just do coach built prams any more, most of their range is exactly the same style as the Mothercare and Bugaboo and Cybex prams etc.

Otherwise, there are also prams which have a hinged seat and go completely flat, not tilted. I am not a fan of the (often expensive) pushchairs which have a moulded seat and just tilt back for their recline, I don't think they look comfortable even for a toddler. A lie flat car seat is often not even as flat as the hinged type pushchair reclines, though Confused

(Also nice judging when OP hasn't even said which pram it is she's bought Hmm)

I am more than aware of how babies should lie and what they need. I am a fully qualified early years educator and have worked in nurseries for 17 years as well as this being dc3! Of course I would make sure the pram I have has a proper pram base. Most travel systems come with them as standard! Goodness me!

This is what I am going to view :) the seat unit also faces the parent as well! I for one see nothing wrong with this travel system. She is giving me the car seat but my mum will buy new I will imagine! Xx

@Squirrelthingsaway I’m shocked by your rudeness actually.

“ I don’t expect you to afford it because not many people can”

I like how you know peoples financial situations! I’ve openly said I need to save money but how do you know my parents aren’t millionaires and I just don’t want to go to them and ask! Please think before you post! I’m thick skinned but that comment could really upset someone who doesn’t have much!
