My GP Ams midwife told me I am entitled to free dental care and visits at this stage? But how do I really go about it? Clueless? Some kind of form that I need to fill?

You need your maternity exemption certificate

Either GP or midwife needs to give you a signed application form for maternity exemption certificate (used to be a plastic card but now just a letter) which you send off and they date it 1 month back from when they receive it - so, I got mine on 13 March, sent it off and, the certificate is dated from 19 February. Until yours is received, you will need to pay any dental or prescription charges and obtain a receipt then, once you’ve got your certificate, you cancla those charges back.

Also just to add you are only entitled to free dental care if you have an NHS dentist. I didn’t realise this until my first pregnancy.

I still got the plastic card, had to fill in a form at the GP after my booking appt (so before I got the B1). It took quite a while for it to arrive so I took my notes as proof, but my dentist just didn't charge when I said I was pregnant.
