Quadruple Test

How accurate is the Quadruple test? I have received a low risk result (1:2380) but just wanted to know other people’s experiences and whether I should verify the result with NIPT.

The above was only for Downs. The consultant will be looking for Edwards / Patau etc during the 20 week scan.

Can’t give you any advice on the accuracy of the test, suppose it depends why you had one, assume you missed or couldn’t get the nuchal fold measurements at your dating scan?

I had the quad test for this reason. My downs result was 1:38000 and trisomy 18 (not sure if that’s Edwards or pataus) was 1:50000. I guess it depends on your age and attitude to risk as to whether you go for further testing?

I think 1:2000 is pretty low. And I suppose you have to think what you would do with more information? Would it make a difference as to whether you continue with the pregnancy? Or would you prefer to be more prepared in advance of the birth?

Sorry, probably not helpful, but didn’t want you to go unanswered. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well x

Lol I misread the test. It’s 1 in 23000, so I guess that’s pretty low even with my age. I’ll see what happens in the 20 week scan and then consider a harmony test.

1:23000 is very low. I would deffo agree that waiting til 20 weeks before pursuing further is a good idea. Relax, and enjoy the next few weeks til then Smile

From what I've read its more likely to give a false positive. For me it gave a 1 in 17 chance of downs syndrome but the NIPT came back at less than 1 in 50,000.
