Movements 25 weeks- feeling anxious

Hi, I’m not sure if I’m being unnecessarily anxious but for the last two days baby has been quieter/kicking more softly. Before this it was usually giving me very strong kicks in the evenings and at various points in the day, along with various flutterings and other softer sensations. Over the last two days I’ve had very few proper kicks and generally feels much quieter. I am still feeling movements though.
I was thinking of calling the maternity assessment unit to ask to be checked but not sure if I’m being over cautious. Any thoughts or views?

There is no such thing as too cautious, ring your maternity unit and go get bubs checked out.

They will honestly not look negatively. I was in and out all the time with mine. I was so anxious xx

Always call, they would rather put your mind at ease.

I called this weekend for very same thing. Baby had some exceptionally active days last week then much quieter over weekend. They were happy to see me but at 25 weeks they can't do the CTG monitoring, so will just listen in to heartbeat via the Doppler for a couple of minutes. Typically baby gave the midwife a good kick while she was doing this!

Meant to say I'm 25 weeks too. :)

I'm also 25 weeks and had the same thing on Friday. I was going to call the hospital on Saturday but movement picked up. Never feel you are being too cautious, please ring your midwife or hospital if you are at all worried about reduced movement. I also went to a hospital while away on a hen do due to this at 23 weeks and they were very nice and listened on a Doppler even though I wasn't from the area

Ok thank you all - have called and they told me to come in I feel stupid because I can feel it a bit it’s just so much ‘quieter’. I’m sure it’s just that it’s turned around or something but I’m getting more and more anxious waiting for some big kicks! Will update when they see me.

All okay- heart beat fine and strong. Ironically baby did a huge kick while they listened and has continued to kick me for the last few minutes. Still feel a bit silly for coming in but worth it to be reassured. Thanks all!

It's often the way, but at least you've done the right thing and got some reassurance.

@SRK16 glad all is good! My baby was a bit quiet for a couple of days, he kicked and moved for 2 hours last night! 🤦🏻‍♀️

EllyNC291 · 24/06/2019 15:27

I did the same at 24 weeks, always better to be safe than sorry. I’ve been back twice since and been monitored (after 28weeks) and they’ve always told me they’d rather see me than have me at home worrying! Glad everything was fine with baby ☺️ Xx

LaurenSarah22 · 24/06/2019 15:32

Its always the same, baby doesnt move for ages and then kicks loads when your there. It happened to me quite a few times, you should always go if your concerned. Your not wasting anyones time. That's why they are there. I think I went about 7 times!!!!

@SRK16 just read this with interest as I've been will I / wont I all day for the same reasons.
I've been feeling kicks for about 2 weeks now so not sure if shes just having a lazy day but theres a very definite difference today compared to all the rest.
I'm going to have some dinner and then see how things are 🤞
