Hello!
Im new to the group and i hope someone can share their experience with me.
Im 20 weeks pregnant with several fibroids the largest measures 18cm which is sitting on the top of uterus.
I started showing early so i had to tell my staff that i was pregnant sooner than i wanted to. My belly shaped weird infact it look twisted. I can tell where the fibroids are as this part feels extremely hard and stiff.
At around 16 weeks, I had to stop working because of the pain.
I had several ultrasound and the doctors says everything looks ok with the baby.
The problem is i can't do anything. I cant walk fast, i have no appetite( causing me to lose weight), i cant sleep comfortably, i cant do any housework so basically im just on best rest.
This is my first pregnancy and im scared i wont be able to carry my baby to full term. The hospital in my area arent even equipped to deliver premature babies ( i know weird).
What do you guys do to ease the pain apart from taking pills?
Has any experience loss of appetite in the 2 trimester? And what did u do?

Hey @Bennylee, I also have a few fibroids (my biggest is 10cm) and in this pregnancy I've gone through two fibroid degenerations - I'm currently 23 weeks.

So the pain was severe, so much so that you can't do much at all and if this is what you're going through the only thing you can do is rest as much as possible, drink plenty of water and it'll pass within a week or two. Take painkillers such as paracetamol to ease it a bit for yourself so you can at least try and get some comfort; and you feeling better is best for baby too :)

Bring this up with your midwife, as when I told her about the pains she requested I see a consultant regarding the fibroids, and this helped ease my mind a lot with them. Consultant was very good and booked an extra scan and follow up towards the end of the pregnancy to make sure their locations won't cause issues with birth. They can cause issues with labour apparently such as more loss of blood than usual, so consultant advised taking iron supplements (which I get taking Pregnacare max) so that's topped up as much as possible.

If you know locations aren't anywhere near the cervix then you honestly shouldn't worry about them affecting the pregnancy, and if they are then you will be monitored more frequently to make sure everything is ok.

As for appetite when going through the pain I couldn't eat much either, but could stomach brown bread and high water content fruit like watermelon. Hope this helps x

Hi. I am 10 weeks pregnant and have fibroid near my cervix (only 4cm though). I am pain all of the time at the moment. I’ve had a couple of light bleeds and have spotting (small amounts of brown blood) most of the time. Because of a previous miscarriage and bleeding I’ve been scanned twice and each time was everything was progressing as should be with a heartbeat. But my midwife has shrugged of fibroids as nothing and just says pregnant women get pain. Sees no link. I consider my pain to be very similar to period pain, which panics me all the time as I think I’m going to miscarry again.

So, for those people that have fibroids I just wondered, did you spot/bleed much? Did you have pain and if you did what was it like?
