Fainting/light-headedness?

Anyone else feeling faint? I'm 23w+5.
Last week I nearly keeled over at work. Had to sit down with the window wide open. If I hadn't sat down when I did I definitely would've totally lost consciousness and hit the floor.
It was mega embarrassing and I'm worried about it happening again.
Admittedly I had been on my feet for hours and hadn't drank much water. I phoned the GP who was unconcerned and said I needed to take more rest breaks at work when I need them. Is it worth talking to my midwife too, or is it just wasting their time?

It's normal. You are more prone to dizziness when pregnant. I believe it's to do with the extra blood in your body. If it happens again then lower your head as much as you can to get the blood flowing back to it.

I wouldn't say you are wasting the midwife's time, but they probably can't do much to help. Look up ways to prevent faintness: drink enough water, eat little and often, stick to slow-release foods rather than ones that give you sugar spikes, and yes try to take breaks more often as it sounds like you're overdoing it being on your feet for so long. Good luck!

I did this alot with my first pregnancy I went to have my wedding dress fitted and as she did it up I had a dizzy spell made her take it off and ended up on the floor in the dress shop in my underwear! I had a turn in the drs too and the midwife kept trying to make me sit on a chair but I was adamant I needed to lie on the floor!

Stay hydrated eat often and make sure you take breaks unfortunately it's just another one of the great side effects of pregnancy. Maybe just mention it to your midwife too when you have your next appointment there's no harm in letting them know. They'll know the best ways to prevent it happening again.

I have been having this a lot recently and it turns out my iron levels were really low. I have been using iron water and am feeling a lot better now. Your iron levels will be tested at your 28 week appointment I think but maybe speak to your midwife before then.

Iv had this about 5 times up to about 27 weeks. It only happened when I was standing up still for a while, I'm a nurse.

I'm getting this a lot (only 17 weeks) - brought it up at my 16 week appointment and the midwife wasn't concerned and just said it's because of low blood pressure. Stay hydrated and don't get up/move too quickly was her advice!
