Hi,

I've been prescribed Cyclizine Hydrochloride because of severe nausea I've stopped taking them though as they've not only caused me drowsiness, but also dizziness and nervousness (to the point of depression!) - has this happened to anyone else??

Drowsiness yes but not the other symptoms you describe. Go back and ask for something else if you cant function with it. Nausea in pg is fucking awful! Never mind actual puking.

I was drowsy and dizzy on them for a few days (self certified off work and slept) then I seemed to adjust to them and was only normal levels of tired. I was also very, very cold all the time.

The nervousness/depression sounds pretty bad, I would definitely go back to GP and ask to try something else. There should be several options available to you.

Thanks both - I've stopped taking the medication and my head feels clearer but of course the nausea is back. Struggling to get an appointment with the GP as they're always fully booked but hoping to get something this week to ask for different medication

To be honest, I was prescribed this in earlier pregnancy, and beyond the third or fourth dose, I felt horrendous. In fact, the nausea was preferable.

I didn’t even go back to the GP, I just stopped taking the awful medication. It’s also not an anti-emetic, it’s an antihistimine, so it’s not prescribed for its intended use. I didn’t feel very comfortable with this.

@Sessy19 I know exactly what you mean - I didn't feel normal, I just wasn't myself. And like yourself, I preferred to put up with the nausea rather than feel horrendous.
If you don't mind me asking, when did the nausea stop?

Urm, 16-17 weeks! Sorry ☹️
