Sending huge hugs - I remember how hard it was being in NICU and being discharged without them as if it was yesterday.
I was in shock for a long time and didn’t realise how much it was affecting me. Reach out for support - you absolutely should still see your HV and midwife, mine would come into nicu to see me.
Many NICUs don’t have anywhere to stay - I take it you’re in a level 3 NICU so may not be near home? If not, ask about accommodation (I didn’t know that there’s subsidised accommodation available near our level 2), rooming in rooms etc.
I know how hard all the needles are - my smaller twin had an umbilical line then switched to a long line after a week, then hourly heel pricks for a lot of his stay.
My twins were much later than yours (35 weeks) but both have disabilities. My friend’s twins were born in the 24th week and they are much further along developmentally than my two! One had a heart issue that is resolved now but she needed an operation - still, the outcome for them has been amazing.
I met another twin mum whose twins were born around the same gestation as yours. They had a very long stay with one of them but they are both home now.
Hang in there, you’re doing an amazing job
