I am currently 13weeks and 4 days pregnant. Is it usual for my tummy to be hard at the top ( under boobs) / pre bump. I am a size 14-16 UK

Pregnancy at that stage will have no impact on that part of your body.

Bloating?

Teddybear45 · 19/06/2019 00:41

Are you short waisted? If so yes it is the beginning of the upper part of your baby bump (ie the squashed organs part of it lol). I was 12-13 weeks when mine formed and started feeling movements from 15 weeks.

14 weeks and 3 days pregnant and just been told that I am having twins!!!!
Apparently I have a twin pregnancy with separate sacs. What does this mean??
Also.. how can I be having twins when there aren't any in even my husband or my side of family? No fertility treatment has been used

Having twins isn't hereditary but can be more likely in families with twins. Separate sacks means they will be fraternal I.e 2 eggs got fertilised rather than one egg splitting after fertilisation. Congratulations!!

Thank you for the message.
Having gone through the family history on both sides there is no side of twins.
How is is this possible?

Twins aren't hereditary. It's a random event especially when it's fraternal twins. Without sound rude, are you an older mum?

CustardCreamLover · 01/07/2019 19:16

That should say 'Twins aren't always hereditary'.

Mumof1andacat · 01/07/2019 19:20

2 eggs have been fertilised. Your body might always release 2 or it may just happen every so often. Twins are more likely if there are twins in the family but not always...two for the price of one...if sure you'll hear all the puns and jokes about twins in the years to come! Congratulations x
