Yep. Have you been referred to physio? The nhs website has some tips about how to deal with it.

Hiya, yes im being refered to physio and told to just rest now. Doc did suggest being signed off work but as its bearable pain (i think i have a fairly high pain threshold) i refused. Will rest over weekend and try take it easier in work although by job involves being in my feet alot. I will have a look at the nhs now. Thanks

I've had it since I was 22 weeks, now 25 weeks and have a physio appointment next week. I stayed at work initially but sitting at a desk all day just became too painful so the doctor signed me off. It's at it's worse for me when sitting or walking.

When I'm in bed at home resting, it's generally just a dull ache which is manageable. As soon as I try and go out or do anything productive, the pain and discomfort becomes unbearable!

Hopefully Physio will ease some of the discomfort. I have found that Deepfreeze gel helps to take the edge off...and a good maternity pillow!!

Pelvic partnership website has loads of advice... but mostly it's just rest and not trying to keep moving through the pain.

I had pgp since I found out I was pregnant. Few things that helped me -
Not taking the stairs if I can avoid
Using a pillow in between my legs at night
Avoiding opening legs too much (getting in and out of bath, out of the car etc)
The biggest change was when I started having massages every 3 weeks. This has kept the pain at bay and has meant that I'm still mobile during my third trimester (something I was told wouldn't be possible by the nhs physio)

I've had it in the last two pregnancies, and have had it since the first trimester this time. It's been pretty horrendous TBH, and I'm permanently on crutches but can't stop work for various reasons. My job means I don't sit or stand for long periods and that helps as sitting down to work is painful. My work have been as accommodating as they can so that's helpful.
I use a solid pillow between my legs in bed, and prefer to be propped up a bit. I take paracetamol frequently to keep on top of the pain. I give myself loads of extra time to get anywhere, which can be frustrating but I've just had to accept it's a new way of life, temporarily! Plus I've been going to yoga, but take it easy as I don't go to a pregnancy yoga class. I've found sex positions are limited but on my side is best, despite being advised to do it from behind - that does not feel good!!
It's all pretty awful but I'm telling myself people have it way worse and at least my issues are temporary.

I will say my pgp is so far quite mild. It I’ve found pillow between my knees at night helps and ive been using a magnesium spray on my lower back/pelvis and that helps too. The biggest thing that has helped mine has been walking more. Initially it was uncomfortable and would make it more sore but in the longer term it’s really improved things. I was also given some exercises to do by my midwife, but I’ve been pretty slack with them!

Thank you all, i really appreciate the advice. It doesnt seem too bad today but in truth i have rested lots. Fingers crossed i wont have to wait too long for physio. Thanks again and i hope that those of you who are currently suffering, get some relief soon 😘

I’m currently 34 weeks and have had it from about 20w. Best things for me are swimming, backstroke especially making effort to squeeze your pelvic floor and glutes when kicking, and the nhs physio wasn’t that great, they were keen on support bands and crutches from my first appointment so I went to a chiropractor instead and the difference was unreal. We don’t realise how much pregnancy impacts our bodies and alignment in the hips and pelvis. I’m physically more active now then I was at 20w. Hope it improves for you.
