Everyone's different, I had awful morning sickness and just the thought of the lemon and ginger tea turns my stomach!
I tried ginger biscuits, travel sickness bands, fruity sweets, toast, eating little and often, smelling lemons, dry crackers, a small snack before I got up in the morning, no fried food or spices, make sure you are drinking enough and sleeping enough mine was worse when I was tired or hadn't had enough to drink.
Try everything and anything! I hope something works for you the sickness is the worst!

I found lemon and ginger tea bags helped, sweetened with a little honey.

I've also found the queasy drop sweets help a lot when you first get that sick taste in your mouth.

Hi all! Glad to find some other people in the same boat. I am about 5 weeks in and have had nausea the whole past week - last night woke up at 3am and was actually sick for the first time. Google says 'don't worry, this usually passes by week 16-20!!! Wtf! Not sure I can cope with that idea.

Butteredghost · 15/06/2019 12:07

Honestly none of that worked the slightest bit for me or anyone I've ever heard about. The only thing that slightly took the edge off (only slightly) is prescription nausea medication (ondansetron).

I found keeping my blood sugar really stable with small regular snacks helped

Gettingonabitnow · 15/06/2019 16:05

Fizzy water helped me

The adjustable velcro sickness bands helped take the edge off for me - the ones you can tighten yourself, not the stretchy type. Also getting my OH to do a slice of dry toast for me to eat before getting out of bed in the mornings.

Other than that, it's buckling in and hoping your morning sickness will stop at some point, not still be hanging around in the third trimester like mine is! FWIW I have found it has got easier to cope with the longer it's gone on. Keep hydrated and get to the doctors if it hasn't passed or at least started to get easier in a few weeks.

Ladies, I've been suffering with really bad sickness the past week... I was away from home Saturday night and forgot to take my pregnacare tablets with me... on Sunday I felt a MILLION times better and suddenly made the connection between the two! I switched from straight folic acid tablets to pregnacare about 10 days ago.

Had my booking in appt today and asked the midwife about this. She pointed out that the only thing that you are advised to take is 400mg folic acid and 10mg vit D. On her advice I've ditched pregnacare and bought those as separates today and so far feel much better.

The sickness meant I've been eating really badly. I'd rather take less tablets and be able to eat more healthily so hoping this works... be interested to know if anyone else here recognises this possible scenario??

Nervousdave · 17/06/2019 22:21

@cloudy01 I changed from taking the pregnacare in the morning as I was often sick shortly after breakfast.... felt much less sick in the mornings when I was taking pregnacare with my dinner. It does say on it to take with a main meal so if you're queasy anyway you might not be having a big enough breakfast to help keep them down?

ChrisPrattsFace · 17/06/2019 22:22

I found getting admitted to hospital for IV anti sickness drugs worked...
Seriously though, everyone’s different. I hope you find something quickly, that works for you.

Shaunieh95 · 17/06/2019 23:32

I am having the same issue I have the worst nausea I have EVER felt and it is constant every night it gets so much worse. I am struggling to eat now and I have tried everything I don't know what else to do 😭

thesemummysarenew · 18/06/2019 06:42

@cloudy01 I'm going to stop taking them today and go back to folic acid to see if that helps me and then I shall let you know in a couple of days.

I had no morning sickness at all until I started taking them. It could be coincidence, but who knows.

I cannot keep feeling like this.... EnvyConfused

thesemummysarenew · 22/06/2019 07:47

@cloudy01 so I'm feeing 100 times better now I'm not on the pregnancy vitamins.

How strange that one (quite large) tablet can make you feel so poorly....

cloudy01 · 22/06/2019 08:19

@thesemummysarenew that's great!! ThanksSo are you just taking folic acid and vit D?
I'm still feeling quite nauseous on just those and really tired this week... god knows what I'd feel like if I was still taking the pregnacare !! Envy

thesemummysarenew · 22/06/2019 08:49

@cloudy01 I'm just taking folic acid at the moment. When I see the midwife I'll ask her.

Glad you are feeling a bit better. I'm struggling to eat meals so finding little and often helps otherwise I go a bit light headed.... oh the joys. Lol.
