Tomorrow is my last day at work, then I'm taking two weeks holiday before my mat leave officially starts.. I keep feeling like I'm so so close even though I still have quite a while to go.
Anyone got advice on how to pass the time? I was thinking of taking up a hobby to keep me occupied while my partners at work. I've started nesting a little but I get very impatient and bored easily. My tiredness has came back now which I had in the first trimester so I've started to nap when I feel I need to. How did everyone else find the last 2 months of pregnancy? X

Started my mat leave today! 😁
I only have 3 weeks left but I'm just enjoying me time at the moment. I'm just taking it very easy as I'm not going to get a chance to once bubba is here

I'm still working at 36 weeks now, and finishing up when I'm 38 weeks. I'm definitely exhausted, swollen, and struggling to be honest... but I'm glad I chose to stay at work as long as possible because I couldn't handle being sat at home for weeks waiting for baby to arrive! I'm looking forward to finishing up, but dreading those last two weeks at home waiting around. At least work is helping me keep busy and distracted and passing the time. You should definitely take up a hobby of some sort, or pamper yourself while you have the chance just now. Is all sorted for baby? Have you stocked up your freezer with precooked meals?

@purplemama1990 yeah definitely going to have to take up a hobby! When are you due?
I wanted to work closer to my due date but because my job is very physical and requires lifting heaving totes and using ladders and such, it's really put my back in so much pain😬
Every night coming home after a shift feels like I've been to the gym all day, just in agony..

I’ve got a month to go, but been on leave from work for almost the whole first and third trimesters due to exhaustion, back problems and hyperemesis gravidarum. This is my second time round. When I’ve been able, I’ve really enjoyed some time with my ds one on one, and he’s had the opportunity to ask lots of questions and he is now very prepared. I have also been writing a novel, posting a chapter online per week, and by the week of my c-section, will be done. It’s very rewarding and something I could do sitting or lying down, or in hospital. I’ve been audio sensitive throughout, so watching shows I know with subtitles in Hebrew/Arabic has really furthered my language skills too. My dh has also taken quite a bit of leave to take care of me and be together as a family during this special time, so if anyone has hobby ideas for him to give me some peace on occasion - that’d be much appreciated.

I hope your pregnancy is going well!

You could see if there are any pregnancy meetups in your area and start making your new mum friends now. I had a group of about 6 mums who I met at birth prep class and we had a whatsapp group and met up the last 2 months before all the babies were born. Then we met weekly with our babies. We are still in touch now as all our babies are turning 3! I'm just starting my last 2 months with baby #2 and would love another group like this!

Also, maybe take up swimming or see if there's a pregnancy aqua or yoga class. It's a nice way to get out of the house, stay active and also meet new people.

Oh, and I second the batch cooking!

Nap, go to the cinema, shop with two free hands, read a book in peace, lots of leisurely baths. I immensely enjoyed my few weeks off before baby arrived!

I like the advice of trying to make some mum friends now, wish I had done this as it was tough in the early days with a colicky baby.
