20 weeks and still sick

I’ve had nausea since week 8/9, all day nonstop nausea. I have had the tablets from the doctors, after a few weeks of still being sick and having the nausea I went back to be told that’s all that I could have and that it’ll pass (they’ve been saying that since 12 weeks). I’m now 20 weeks and still sick and nauseas 24/7. Im usually only physically sick one day a week but it’s 3/4 times that day, I get rashes on my face from the retching. This is my first pregnancy and so far I’ve been told everything is normal so I can only assume I’m one of the unlucky ones, but it’s effecting me working now. I’ve just had a few days off as I was really sick and couldn’t keep water down, went back today to be sick everywhere, big rash and immediately felt so tired. I know I’m probably being a wimp and most people are sick and just get on with it, but I feel awful after and still have the nausea. Don’t really want to bother the midwife as I assume it’s normal and the doctors have said nothing else can be done.

Sorry about the rant.

Hi OP sorry to hear you're having such an awful time!

I'm not as far along as you but I have constant nausea too and it's making me miserable so I understand how you must be feeling. I don't understand how some women just power through, I always look washed out and feel like I'm wondering around like a zombie!

I don't really have any advice but just wanted to let you know you're not alone! It'll all be worth it when you have that little baby in your arms Flowers

I'm nearly 29 weeks and still throwing up! I had antiemetics too but they made me feel very drowsy which I really didn't like. It does suck and it isn't pleasant, I completely get how you feel. It's nausea every day and throwing up every other day now for me.

What I would say is to make sure if you are too sick to work, take the days off. Employers can't hold sick days taken due to pregnancy against you, so it really is worth using official sick days if it's something you can do. Don't feel like you're making a fuss, women can and do get sickness all through pregnancy and the law is on your side.

It might be worth getting the rash looked at by your GP if you haven't already, it's not a common side-effect AFAIK?
