Small pram advice needed

I'm looking for some recommendations! I feel like I've looked at every pram in the world this past 2 weeks.

Must haves:

Under 60cm wide (the main problem)
lightweight (ideally under 10kg)
Easy fold

Nice to haves:
High up seat
Off road wheels
Free standing fold
One handed fold
Something that I won't want to replace after 1.5 years for a simple buggy, if I'm spending a lot on it

So far I've found the uppababy cruz, and the babystyle oyster3. The oyster is slightly too heavy. The fold on both is not ideal. I worry about managing them on buses. Is there anything out there more along the lines of a lightweight buggy, that isn't wider than 60cm, and suitable from birth?

I'm not sure of the exact dimensions but I think we're going for an icandy raspberry as it seemed to be the smallest/lightest we could find. Not sure it's that good off road but we live in a city and will mainly be getting public transport.

Uppababy Minu with the Birth Kit?

52cm wide and 6.7kg

Not sure on the dimensions but I highly recommend the Joie Juba travel system. My checklist was similar to yours as I have a small boot and did not want to have to buy a new car yet. We bought the juva expecting to return it as it was was £100 all in brand new and we thought it would be an ideal guinea pig to see what we didn't need.

We were so pleasantly surprised and it is so compact and lightweight. I bought a snugg liner type thing for when baby is here to make it a bit more comfortable but all in all it is amazing.

Do what we did, buy one, see what you think. You can always return it!

Mondayblues7 · 11/06/2019 08:08

Ahhhh. Joie Juva system. Silly autocorrect.

The babyzen yo-yo always gets good reviews although I've never used one myself. The baby is low down though.

I have an uppababy vista and it's truly excellent, a friend has the Cruz and feels similarly. Obviously the vista is far too big for your requirements, but just giving a review of the brand. Good idea up thread about the minui as well.

Cosatto Giggle would meet your size requirements. I like it... has similar wheels to the UPPABaby Cruz, but I don’t know that they’re considered ‘off road’ on either models.

Folded Chassis Size: L 97 x W 60 x H 25 cm. Assembled Chassis Size: L 100 x W 60 x H 100 cm. Chassis Weight 5.8 kg.

Mamas and Papas FlipXT. We have a narrow front door and it was one of the few travel systems that would fit through.

Mamas and Papas Flip XT2 OR the Ocarro for better wheels

INeedNewShoes · 11/06/2019 14:48

The Jane Epic almost conforms to your wishlist, it's just a bit heavier than 10kg. I can lift the chassis one handed into the car though.

It's a great off-road pushchair with brilliant wheels (all terrain wheels that don't puncture). It has managed every walk I've thrown at it (woods, fields, rough tracks).

It has had to go back once for a repair but it came with a 2 year warranty and was so straightforward to organise the repair at their cost.

It is noticeably more compact than other prams/pushchairs in this category and handles better (turns on a sixpence) than any of my friends' travel system pushchairs (they say this, not just me!).

I have a Cosatto Giggle and badly regret not getting a YoYo. DD is now a 91st centile 21 month old and it is fecking heavy. I’d happily sacrifice height for weight and portability.

Beeseeinya · 11/06/2019 17:41

That Jane is a lovely thing. Like the mamas and papas too.

However I just realised another criteria that rules out so many... the depth of the wheelbase, has to be under 80cm to fit into our front door. Crazy, yes.

I'm starting to think I will just have to bring baby indoors in the carry cot, then fold down the chassis while it's outside. If I'm doing that, I want a small, lightweight cot addon as I will need to hold it out in front of me to squeeze through the door.

Feels simpler to move house 😁

The Jane attachments click on and off really easily with the baby inside them.

I keep the chassis in a little cupboard that's outside my front door.

Expressedways · 11/06/2019 18:22

Scrap the requirement for off roading, get a sling for country walks and get something compact like the babyzen yo-yo. I haven’t measured mine but I wheeled it down the aisle of a plane last week so I’m going to guess it will fit through your front door!

INeedNewShoes · 11/06/2019 19:16

The Yoyo is the polar opposite of the OP's requirement for the seat to be a decent height isn't it?

Otherwise great pushchair for being compact and lightweight but I know the pushchair height would put me off (in my case due to it being in the path of exhaust fumes when walking along town/city pavements - this may not be the issue for OP however as she is in the countryside).

excitednerves · 11/06/2019 19:33

I have the M&P Flip XT3. Not sure of the exact dimensions but I needed something small for storage reasons. Fold up with one hand, freestanding upright takes nearly no room in my hall, nice high seat (and carrycot) and decent wheels.

Golder · 11/06/2019 20:22

Hey, I'm not sure if this will help at all, as it depends on where you live.. But I went to this place near Milton Keynes to get my pram. Its a shop called Bump Start. They are very good at letting you play around with the prams to get a good feel for them and even let you try it out in the car if that helps you.
We bought the hybrid city stroller which came with bigger wheels for everyday use as well.
Not sure if it will help, but it's worth having a look if you live close enough. They are handy as well because they can store your pram there until you require it. Only need to give them 24h notice before collecting it!

PretendNothing · 11/06/2019 21:33

We've gone for the Baby Jogger City Tour Lux. Not sure how it handles off-road as haven't actually used it yet, but it weighs around 8.5kg, tried and tested one-handed, freestanding fold and has a proper pram attachment where baby is nowhere near as low as the YoYo. Definitely worth a look.

Hmmmbop · 12/06/2019 00:17

Bugaboo bee.

No off road wheels but it does surprisingly well on uneven surfaces. If parent faces too which lots don't. It isn't one hand fold, but is very easy to fold.
