I Had one done for my firstborn and have just rebooked the same photographer to do one for #2 due end of July. I love the photos i got but I will say one of the reasons I went with this photographer is because her style was very natural and less prop heavy than some other photographers out there.

All a bit weird. All those composite photos where they have them in poses they couldn't possibly be in. Assume they are pretty expensive. Definitely an eye roll inducing concept for me!

Teddybear45 · 04/06/2019 23:31

I love them. Especially the themed ones.

I'm trying to find a good family photographer locally so we can get pictures of baby and us with baby... love photos some friends have of baby holding their hand etc.. amazing memory of how teeny tiny they are!

Slicedpineapple · 05/06/2019 09:18

I love them. Babies are only that diddy for so long.

Mintypea5 · 05/06/2019 09:25

My Sil & BiL had one pictures were gorgeous! Not so much of a fan of the weird baby in a bucket kinda thing but the group shots of them and our niece with her baby brother were stunning. Makes me wish I was photogenic Grin

Sandrine1982 · 06/06/2019 21:30

Cringe-worthy. Will never do that. :-/

Emelene · 06/06/2019 22:09

We loved ours. Found a photographer that did quite natural poses and some family shots. Worth every penny, 100%. They captured my little one in a way my phone photos can't!

Maddis136 · 07/06/2019 08:30

Personally I love them and am so pleased I had them for my first so have rebooked this time. I can hardly believe DD1 was that small and in hindesight I can see how glowing and happy I am in the pics too.

Personally I don’t mind the themed ones too. It’s just a bit of fun and no more cringe worthy than dressing your daughter head to toe in pink or a woodland creature onesie IMO.

Hmmmbop · 07/06/2019 08:31

I had one. All natural poses and close ups of hands and feet. I'm not a fan of themed ones. I'm glad we did, I wish we'd done it with DS.

BarryMcguigan · 07/06/2019 09:14

I thought they were so cringe and absolutely embarrassing... then baby arrived and I realised you had two weeks to get them done or the dozy newborn phase would be over and you don't get to do the poses... so I did it 😂 I pushed back on lots of the huge accessories and ultimately ended up with lots of beautiful natural posed photos of my teeny tiny newborn. I still maintain lots of ten ridiculous costumes and poses are too much and I was also fortunate to know the photographer who offered me very low cost. If you can afford it I think the worse that can happen is you get a few pics that aren't in your taste... or you could manage the photo shoot like I did and end up with some beautiful shots :) - to anyone who chose huge headbands or Victorian outfits that's also fine it's all a matter of personal taste!

Darkstar4855 · 07/06/2019 10:30

I didn’t bother as I don’t really like them and much prefer the natural shots that we took at home. I also wasn’t in much of a state to get out to a photography studio in the first couple of weeks after a difficult birth!

My husband and I recently went to this photography studio Kent for our baby’s photo shoot. It was a unique experience, especially for us parents. Our little one posed holding and wearing different props, and we stood close by to make sure he doesn’t throw a fit and always smiles. I think we enjoyed the shoot as much as our son did.

We had a great experience! Me and my partner got to relax on the sofa for a few hours, I even had a nap! The photos were really lovely, pretty simple, she didn't put the baby in a bucket which is what I really don't like and we have them printed all over the house.
It's pretty expensive, but I just know that in the long run I'm going to be happy we did it, even though we take loads of photos of our little boy on our phone, they are not the same at all and I hardly ever save or print my photos in a way I will ever find them again!!
I'm not sure where you're based but we used elizabethmay.photo in East London, so check her out if that's anywhere near you!

I'm glad we did it. Ours are natural and beautifully done. I don't remember him being that small, squished and sleepy now that he's an almost 12 month old whirlwind so it's nice to be able to look back on them
