How to treat a headache in pregnancy

Does anyone have any advice for headaches? I don't know what I can and can't take. I've got a cracking headache centred around my right eye (totally normal for me) which I'd put treat with aspirin but am less keen to do that as I've had an upset stomach the past few days, and aspirin makes that worse.

What's your go-to headache cure?

Paracetamol

I am currently 27+5 and prior to pregnancy would have the most hurrendous headaches. I used the anadin extra which j can't take in pregnancy.

Try these :

  • have a steam shower, this tends to clear your sinuses and would begin to make me feel better. Sit in the shower as you are pregnant and the steam may make you feel dizzy. Don't do more than 15 minutes. This worked well with my following tip:
  • lay with your eyes closed , head elevated and place an ice pack (wrapped in a towel) over the part that's killing. Lay there for as long as you can.
  • drink only water for the rest of the day

Hope this helps. I know how awful it is. You can also take paracetamol too, but they never touched my headaches.

Paracetamol and a nap

I swear by the 4head stick for every headache. It's natural and always works wonders for me, I never need to take any tablets. And I get bad headaches. (Personally I refuse to even buy paracetamol because I don't believe it does anything).

Paracetamol and fluids, then a nap. Occasionally a hit shower if my neck is tense as it helps to relax the muscles.

Paracetamol and 4head stick.

Thanks everyone, I'll remember those! Thankfully this time, paracetamol did seem to take the edge off it.

Paracetamol is a life saver in pregnancy.

I've been having a lot of paracetamol - headaches have been out of this world.

Apparently it's fine!
