Reduced movements 24 weeks

Have been feeling daily movement from around 21 weeks and usually have one very wriggly little girl. However for 3 days I have felt nothing we have tried all the tricks online to try and get her moving and still nothing. Have rang local triage and they said they don't want me to come in and sounds normal to have no movement at 24 weeks but to contact my midwife to be checked over yet I carnt get hold of anyone. Feel lost and very anxious any advice on what to do and if it is normal?

I had the same at 25 weeks. They told me to come into triage. To be honest I would ring up again and insist you need to come in.

As the previous poster said, ring up again and insist.

They told me not to come in when I was pregnant with DS and then tried to send me home, luckily I stuck to my instincts and he was born by emergency section 4 hours later. He was poorly and spent 4 weeks in NICU, he just celebrated his 14th birthday. I was further on than you but honestly if you are worried then don’t let them fob you off.

Ring again thats so bad they wouldnt check u over, babies are born at 24wks so dont get why they class 24wks as not important.
My midwife gave me this ive posted a pic for u x

Might be worth phoning community midwife office, they tried to get me into one of the routine midwife clinics that day when I had reduced movement around then (but couldn't, so sent me to the day unit at hospital instead). Definitely insist on being seen somewhere OP, it'll only take them five minutes to check the heartbeat for you so they should be able to find a solution.

Thanks for all your replies. Will deffo give them another ring.. I don't understand why they hand out all of the information saying to go in from 24 weeks for any changes if they say it's normal x

I wouldn’t bother honestly. Can you just make your way to the hospital? They’re unlikely to turn you away once you’re there.
You don’t need an appointment.

Ring the hospital again. If they say they won’t see you then ask for the midwife’s name and for the Matron of midwives to ring you back.

It's not a question of "not important", 24 weeks is just too early to have an established pattern of movement. Babies at this stage still move around a great deal positionwise and this may mask their movements completely. Also the only real option for a distressed baby in utero is delivery, and delivery of a 24 weeker is potentially frying pan --> fire.

My hospital would not monitor for reduced movements before 28 weeks because no stable pattern is expected to be seen before then. You can try just turning up but they may not see you.
