Hi guys
7.5 week here and I've o my been sick once but I have nausea 24/7... and it is reducing my to tears! I thankfully work from home twice a week but even that's a struggle as I just want to sit and breath!
We were told I was unlikely to have a baby so after 7 years we have a little positive! So I'm petrified to take any medication too! So what do u ladies suggest? Xx

My friend had this and she really suffered for many weeks until she went on medication and it got slightly better. See the GP and see if you can get on tablets. Also, have you tried eating small meals? Like crackers to help? I know it doesn’t help all. But I thought I would mention just in case as I feel sick if I go more then two hours w out eating.

Yes speak to your GP. However, be prepared to be pushy. I found I was generally dismissed quite a bit in my first pregnancy.

Oh no! It's so miserable.

Have you tried all the traditional remedies?

I had nausea all day every day with both of my pregnancies but those anti sea sickness accupressure bands you wear on your wrists definitely helped to take the edge off it.

The only other thing that helped me was not forcing myself to eat. I just drank little sips of water and ate the odd boiled sweet when it was really bad.

I'm not an expert but I think you can only go on medication if you have constant vomiting (hyperemesis gravidarum).

Sorry you're feeling so rotten.

Mamabear12 · 29/05/2019 15:47

My friend managed to go on it and she said she did not vomit much, but was just feeling very strong nausea all day long. She said it was the worst and she would cry every day because of it. Once on the meds she felt slightly better and said next time around she will get straight on the meds.

Definitely! Doctor prescribed cyclizine which worked wonders. Not completely nausea free but a lot better.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 29/05/2019 15:49

I had the same with my twins but it got better at 16 to 18 weeks. I didn't go down the medication route, it's not really done as much here in Ireland. It does pass... But you have my sympathies, it's absolutely awful!

BarberellaWife · 29/05/2019 15:55

Definitely go and see your GP. I went and saw me and she sent me straight to hospital as I was so dehydrated.
I hope you feel better soon xx

KC84 · 29/05/2019 15:57

Thanks everyone!! I just feel so pathetic, I mean I feel like such a wimp! But it honestly has gotten me down after constant for over a week now! And then I cry, and then I exhausted from working myself up about it!
I try to eat something small every 2 hours but it last for 5 minutes. Ginger doesn't help either Confused
Boiled sweets tend to curb them for the duration of the sweet...

I didn't think going to doctor would help as I just felt they would fob me off as 'your pregnant' deal with it....

Gosh ladies thank u!

@KC84 yes go see your GP!
I've had horrendous nausea, been signed off work for three weeks and had to go to hospital for an IV drip. It's so important for them to check your urine for ketones, I've been prescribed medication and starting to get better day by day.

snowflakeeel · 29/05/2019 17:46

It's one of the worst things! Mine started at 6 weeks and today, week 10 has taken a break for the day. I desperately hope thats me done now. Make it clear to your GP that it is effecting your ability to function. I'm self employed and work two days from home as well, I need the money and have no buffer so can't really afford to lay around waiting for it to pass. I had awful nausea in my first 2 pregnancies but this one is off the scale! Don't suffer if you don't have too. X
