Just lil old me again bombarding the threads 🙈

Has anyone had progesterone levels done before? If so, is it something that you can ask your doctor for and definitely get it or can they refuse ?
Since my MMC this year I have noticed that my BBT is very low before ov and still pretty low after.. I am properly totally jumping to conclusions here but makes me think if I have low progesterone and that's what caused the MC ??

You can try your GP. I have just started tests including progesterone tests but I've had 3 MCs. But you could definitely go private if the NHS refused. It's a simple blood test but you would have to pay for the consultation plus the test and the follow up but might not be too much.

If you generally have a low body temp (even pre-ov), it isn't progesterone that's an issue as there is almost no progesterone in your system pre-ov. If your change in bbt pre and post ov is very very small (I'm talking almost non-existent), then it's possible it could be an issue.

The nhs don't recommend doing testing until after 3 mc because only about 1-2% of women will have three in a row. As heartbreaking and unhelpful as it is, miscarriage is devastatingly common and most often cause by a chromosomal abnormality causes by incompletely meiosis in either the egg or sperm. Basically humans are super complex and have so many chromosomes that we aren't good at cutting them exactly in half so that a baby would have 50% or each parent's dna...
