Clear blue digital negative - others positive result

Hi,

First time posting here, so apologies if this is daft. I have done three pregnancy tests, two normal supermarket stick tests and one clear blue digital. The two stick tests came back with a positive (but faint) line. Clear blue 'not pregnant'.

I feel like I could be pregnant, but I'm so confused. I'm still 3 days before missed period, so I assumed the clear blue would detect it.

Thanks for any advice!

The digital tests require 4-10x as much hormone as a due test to get a positive result, depending on which dye test you’re using. If your period isn’t even late yet then I’d say that’s the issue.

@sophieroberts91 I've had a similar thing this week - positive ICs and first responses on Tuesday and Wednesday, negative first response on Thursday (gutted). Turned to mumsnet for help, told to wait a few days. Waited until yesterday morning, got my digital BFP.

So I wouldn't worry the digital says negative, a line is a line, just give it a couple more days for the hormones to build up some more.

The digital ones aren't as sensitive so give it a week then do it. Congratulations!

I got my BFP on a FRER yesterday (10dpo), tried a Clearblue Digital this morning fully expecting it to be negative following comments on here and it was positive but I have read that they are not as sensitive as other tests, so yes, maybe leave it a few days and try again.

If you’re getting positive dye tests then you’re pregnant - you don’t need a digital to confirm it, they’re testing the same thing (albeit you need more of the hormone to get a positive on a digital).

Even a faint line is a positive. I had a confusing dye test result, the horizontal line was really faint, the vertical line really dark and I was really unsure until I realised it was the vertical line that meant pregnant! I still didn’t believe it though - my twins are now running around climbing the walls ;)

Lots of things impact hcg levels in very early pregnancy though. Mine would have been very high because there were two in there!

and I'm almost 40 which I think increases the likelihood. I'll just assume that my hcg is nice and strong and that's a good sign... Grin

@tisonlymeagain I got a strong positive on a frer at only 8dpo it was definitely just one baby lol but I had heard others getting strong early positive with twins.

I had really high hCG (24,000 at 5+4) and it wasn’t twins!
