Hello!
I'm 21 weeks exactly tomorrow and had my 20 week scan last Saturday and found out me and my partner are having a girl.

Just thought it would be nice to chat to other mums to be, as I'm only 26 and I'm a bit nervous and excited both at the same time and trying to figure out everything I need and how to prepare is quite daunting haha!

I'm due on the 4th October and wondered if anyone on here is a similar time frame to me ! X

Have you chosen your pram yet?

Maxandsally1 · 25/05/2019 08:34

Hi I’m 4 or 5 weeks pregnant first time mum I’m very nervous

angelix · 25/05/2019 10:37

I was convinced I was having a boy too @saydz92 but equally delighted that it's a girl. We ordered the pram a few weeks ago and have picked out most of the things we'd like to get. Were lucky as family are all keen to help with the 'big' things so we'll properly make a start on that in the next few weeks, all being well.
I'm starting to enjoy pregnancy more now.
I always thought it would be the freakiest feeling to have a baby growing inside but in reality it's so, so lovely.
Maybe I'm still in that 2nd trimester stage where it's all great before the reality of the 3rd kicks in 🤷‍♀️😂

Saydz92 · 25/05/2019 12:18

@angelix yeh I got my pram quite early on when I was about 7 weeks which I know could've been tempting fate, but I absolutely love it. A lady I knew was selling a mama's and papa's set with a car seat and it's black with white polka dots on .. lucky really as even though it would've suited either sex I think now I know I'm having a girl, she will suit it really well.
It came from a pet & smoke free home and she's a really lovely woman. She spent £1200 on it and sold it to me for £125, so that's why I had to have it. She even washed everything she could ! Can't wait to use it (even though I've never pushed a pram before and no doubt will get panicky when I'm out on my own for the first time or when I'm trying to collapse it into my car) haha!

Yeh I think the second trimester is the nicest as you start to feel the movements, you can find out the sex etc ! Not looking forward to summer though I think that will be quite hard work with a big belly !!

Yeh I've just said to a lady above about the pram! We have gone for a mama's and papa's one !! Really cute !

@Maxandsally1 just keep positive! I struggled with the first 12 weeks, the amount of stress and anxiety I gave myself was ridiculous! I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks last year and for some reason I had it in my head that I wouldn't be lucky this time and I really gave myself a hard time. But baby is healthy and I think looking back easier said than done, but it's really not worth putting yourself through the stress.

I'm still nervous now, absolutely dreading birth! Went shopping yesterday with my mum for maternity pads and stuff for the birth and I literally had no idea what I was buying as no one really explains what you do and don't need ! You will be fine

No we didn't want to find out 😊

EnjoyItAll · 25/05/2019 20:28

Sounds like you got a really good deal on the pram! It’s the only big thing we still need to get

Kathryn19 · 25/05/2019 20:32

@Enjoyitall you are so organised!!! I'm in awe haha

EnjoyItAll · 25/05/2019 20:58

It’s only because bounty had a great deal on a car seat and we have been gifted a Moses basket and happened to be given furniture before I knew I was pregnant Wink it’s all just been very good timing! Hehe. I reckon he will arrive and I will be ordering something major we have forgotten on next day delivery Grin

melissa1215 · 25/05/2019 20:59

Hi! I'm 26, due 7th October with a little boy Smile

Kathryn19 · 25/05/2019 21:09

@Enjoyitall I am so sure we will forget things... probably one of the millions of smaller things! I need every single day of the next 13 weeks to get ready (so no coming early please little one...!)

EnjoyItAll · 25/05/2019 21:15

@Kathryn19 I’m thinking it will be the smaller things to and something really important! At least if we get stuck Amazon is only a click away! Hopefully you will get everything you need before little one comes! Hoping my little one comes on time but need to be check for low placenta so preparing for the worst!

Kathryn19 · 25/05/2019 21:23

@Enjoyitall fingers crossed for you it is all okay! I haven't had any issues crop up yet touch wood.. having some heart tests but think it's just harmless irregularities. Lots of us in mine and my husband's families were late so half expecting that!

EnjoyItAll · 25/05/2019 21:28

@Kathryn19 they aren’t too worried at the moment and apparently it’s common at this stage so fingers crossed everything moves where it should. I hope all your tests go well! Things would be much simpler if you could be guaranteed a date of arrival! Fingers crossed we both get close to our due dates!

Kathryn19 · 26/05/2019 17:03

@Enjoyitall that's good to hear :) and yesss I know - it is so tricky deciding when to leave work and things like that!

Holiday16 · 27/05/2019 10:17

@Kathryn19 hi sweet I'm also 26 and a ftm. Im due on 24th October
I haven't met many people online around my age either but happy to chat If you want too x

Kathryn19 · 27/05/2019 10:59

@Holiday16 yay exciting! How are you feeling about it all??

Holiday16 · 27/05/2019 12:36

Excited but scared too lol. We have our second scan in two weeks so looking forward to that. Have also brought quite a lot so feel organised for once lol. How about you? X

Kathryn19 · 27/05/2019 16:54

@Holiday16 oh amazing!!! Second scan felt like such a huge step I thought, and they look so properly baby like :)
I concur, excited but scared. Spent some of today mooching around the shops and had to really restrain myself from buying anything. We only have a few things so far, think July is going to be a busy busy month...!

Joey139 · 27/05/2019 19:46

Hi guys,
We just had our 20 week scan and 1 of the ventricles in the brain are measuring borderline high at 10mm. Anyone else experienced this? So worried - not sure what to do . . .

Kathryn19 · 27/05/2019 20:36

@Joey139 oh I'm sorry.. did they say anything about it at the scan or just make a note? Haven't experienced but sending a virtual hand hold/hug x
