Consultant appointments - schedule?

Quick question - I have my second consultant app tomorrow at 28weeks but I’m wondering if there is typically a schedule they follow as to which weeks we have appointments? As in am I likely to need to see her more frequently now maybe?
Back story - Originally my consultant apps were for high blood pressure but that has all stabilised now (I have to see the nurse at my gp fortnightly and my mw fortnightly on opposite weeks to keep an eye on it) so the mw says the original plan may be more lenient now - EXCEPT that I also have a low lying placenta which she thinks is more of a concern
The only reason I’m asking is because I am happy to take myself tomorrow but my husband is going away in a few weeks and I don’t want him to miss ALL the consultant appointments! So I’m wondering if it’s wise to get him to come with me tomorrow - he has many questions but as the mw points out, until I have more scans and Dopplers there are no certainties so I don’t think the consultant will be able to answer any of them this time anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also it might be worthy to note that we live in a rural area and it’s a long drive to the hospital where the appointment is (and an even longer drive to the hospital where I will have to give birth.)
So both myself and my husband would be taking a lot of unpaid time off work to attend appointments!

It totally depends on your consultant and what they feel you would benefit from the most. In my first pregnancy, I ended up seeing a consultant every week from 30 weeks, this time I've seen a consultant less, but he's been available more.

If you know when you husband will be going away you may be able to schedule appointments around it, and if it's for a low.lying placenta, until you get closer to the delivery and he knows if it's moved up or not, there may not be any point in seeing him. You'll likely get appointments for scans between, to keep an eye on it, and obviously you'll be referred back if you have any issues.

There will be a lot of questions that come up along the way, and you should ask him if there is anyway to contact him should they arise. Though, it may be that for most of what you want to know a MW (community or in the clinic) can answer them, or find out the answer.

Sorry that's not a more definite answer, each consultant works in a different way, and they tend to be fairly individual to each patient depending on the circumstances!

Thanks, this is dc4 but I’ve never been under a Consultant before so this is all new to me!
I have all my scans booked anyway due to having 2 sfga babies already and another who was only 12th percentile plus that alongside known hypertension they keeping a close eye on me. And I’ve already been told that at my placenta scan check at 34 weeks they won’t give me any longer for the placenta to move so if it’s still too low I will be having an elcs booked!
Being as I’ve never been under a consultant I just wondered if there was specific weeks they like to see you like with the mw, iykwim. I guess not lol!
Probably best my husband stays out of it as he (as did I) desperately wants a home birth and to enable me to go full term, but the consultant won’t allow that anyway due to the speed of my deliveries and the distance to the hospital - and the likelihood of complications! I’m pretty sure placenta previa/aka elective section will be music to my consultants ears lol!
