Lines getting darker?

Does lines getting darker mean a healthy pregnancy or does it not matter as long as there is a line? This pregnancy was unexpected and I am in disbelief. If I date myself from my last period I am 7 weeks +6 but according to clear blue digital I may not be that far along (I have irregular cycles) do I need to be worried? I took the photo with my ring on yesterday eve the other test was Sunday PM and the digital was Monday morning. Thoughts please x

Pregnancy tests are not designed to reassure you about the health of a pregnancy they're designed to tell you either you are or aren't pregnant.

A lot of women do seem to see a darker line as a sign it's a healthy pregnancy but honestly it isn't any actual reassurance.

Those clear blue digitalis should be banned women obsess over getting 3+ weeks and panic that not getting it means a miscarriage when I actual fact those tests are unreliable and need way more HCG hormone to give you a reading.

I've had a few miscarriages in 2 I got a 3+ on those tests and lost the baby at 11/12 weeks. I got a super dark like on a frost response and lost the baby a week later at 6 weeks

Both my pregnancy's that resulted in children o didn't get past 2-3 on a CB and my lines were just lines never super dark or faint. This pregnancy again I've just got a normal line ... I'm currently 15 weeks

Agree with pp - line strength doesn't necessarily mean anything! With my son I never got a 3+ on a cbd and I'm 18w with my second and only got 2-3 when I was about 7 weeks! Dates have obviously now been confirmed through scans so imo those tests are way out. Try to relax and if you are genuinely concerned or experience pain/bleeding speak to your doctor or midwife.

Hi @Chuchu14 - congrats! I drove myself crazy with tests; agree with PPs that they are designed to give a yes-or-no answer rather than a how-far answer.

Have you considered booking a private scan? It's usually between £60-£90 and will be able to give you some more information.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Guess I just need to relax a little... so hard!

@Mintypea5 sorry for your losses and thank you for sharing your experience.

I have nothing to make me think things arent ok at the moment so guess I just need to relax and go with it!

I've always found the clearblue ones to be pretty accurate and have indicated when something is wrong in all 4 miscarriages as the weeks didn't increase when they should ......(except for my ectopic pregnancy!)

I'm surprised you're getting 1-2 weeks if you think you're over 7 weeks - that doesn't sound right - although after a certain number of weeks hcg gets so high that it can throw the tests off

@itwasalovelydreamwhilstitlasted sorry to hear about your losses Flowers

To be honest I have no idea when I conceived or ovulated as I have PCOS and very irregular cycles. This also wasnt a planned pregancy so literally wasnt even trying to track or conceive so who knows how far along I am perhaps I ovulated late and I'm just not as far along as my last period shows Hmm
