Feel like I'm eating a reasonable ammount and sometimes feel bloated if eat too much for dinner, but I keep waking up at 3am so hungry! Does anyone else have this and what are you giving in to if you have the 3am munchies? Im 17 weeks.

I'm not currently pregnant but ate loads when I was - especially in the first trimester! I ate everything! My main midnight snacks were cereal and toast. Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy Smile

I'd say follow your appetite. In the fird trimester, I lived off Supernoodles. Second trimester, I ate fairly normally. I'm due ok Thurs and my appetite is hit and miss. Some days I'm ravenous and nothing touches the sides. Other days, I graze just to keep some small amounts of food in my system. Mostly though, I've actually fancied healthier foods this time around (salads, fruit, yoghurt, etc) but also snacking on crap like chocolate.

If youre hungry, you should eat. It'll all level out. You're going a little person at the end of the day :) as for 3am, munchies, what about something like a banana or cereal bar?

Sht loads.... Sickness had now subsided so eating better food now but eating 3 full meals a day plus snackage! I never used to bother with breakfast really but I'm hungery from the minute I wake up. I'm just going to go with it.....I lost weight with my first pregnancy but dont think that's going to happen this time round. walks off into kitchen to get more food*

I’m 13 weeks and have been crazy hungry since about 7 weeks. If i don’t eat something every 2/3 hours my tummy is rumbling. It’s madness but i just figure if you need to eat then you need to eat no point denying yourself.

Toast. But I have found that if I eat whole fibre rich foods in the day (nuts, veg, sweet potato) I tend to stay fuller for longer

Im 14 weeks and my stomach starts grumbling after about 3 hours without food. I've been craving ice cream so made my own frozen yogurt to keep it slightly healthier. I find if I prepare healthy snacks in advance I'm far more likely to stick to healthier foods than if I have to make it when I'm hungry

It’s varied quite a lot throughout the pregnancy. I’ve just gone with it and eaten when hungry. I had a phase of having a bowl of cereal at about midnight every day for a couple of weeks.

I have days where I just cannot stop eating, especially from about week 26ish.
First trimester I lived off ginger biscuits because I was in a constant state of nausia, I lost half a stone.
Second, I generally ate what I normally did, but more toast, my dp always has a bowl of cereal before he goes to bed, I usually have a glass of milk, but found myself eating 2 rounds of lemon curd on toast.
From about my 26th week as I said above l, I have days where I can't stop grazing, I'll have breakfast, second breakfast, 11ses, lunch, 2 or 3 snacks, dinner, and then toast before bed.
Then there are days like today, I had large chips from McDonald's at about 11, a banana and some grapes and a jam sandwich at 4ish, dinner at 9 and I feel sooo full. I will still have toast about 11ish though because I'll start to get snacky 😂

I tried the porridge thing and didn't wake up as starving but still hungry for about an hour. I should've got up and eaten! Getting a bit sick of it now Hmm

I definitely ate loads in the first trimester because I felt so sick all the time and it was made a lot worse if I was hungry...which seemed to be every hour Hmm and it was all carbs I wanted as that helped (a bit) with the sickness. But now I'm 26 weeks and for the last few weeks I've been eating more normally. I do get days where I'm always hungry but I'm guessing that's just a growth spurt or something? And I can now stomach a healthier diet of salad, fruit, eggs etc which helps. I'm hoping I'm now slowing down the weight gain as I definitely gained more than I should have in the first trimester Blush

I would just listen to your body though. I find eating little and often helps too, and more protein if you can stomach it. I have to eat breakfast whilst pregnant else I feel sick and faint, which I never used to eat before pregnancy.
