How soon to call midwives unit?

I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant, and I think I'm 4+4. I'm having a little bit of v light brown spotting, and some bright red only when having a BM (sorry). I'm nervous, but trying to remind myself that what will be will be and spotting is normal.

Is it too soon to call the midwives unit and get myself booked in for my first appointment, etc? I did ring the surgery this morning, and they just said to phone the midwives.

Thanks.

Yes everyone is right, I work in maternity and you can refer as soon as you like, especially if you have a bit of spotting. You won't have your booking appointment until about 10 weeks, but at least you can phone for advice and they will know who you are Smile

I found out I was pregnant last Sunday, just over 6 weeks, called the midwife team on Monday & I got a call today from my midwife team for my first booking appointment, is14th June. Judging by my dates I'll be near 10 weeks by then. I'm 38 with my 1st pregnancy, is it usual for you not to be seen until this time when older?

Congratulations everyone 💐

@Isain08 anywhere around 8-10 weeks is normal and it's only the later appointments you get more of if first pregnancy/ higher risk
