Partial molar pregnancy

Just had a letter saying the pregnancy tissue after miscarriage has been examined and they suspect it was a molar pregnancy. I have an appointment in 10 days time. I had bleeding in early pregnancy and a scan at about 6 weeks which showed fetal pole with heart beat told all normal but I couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong so I paid for a private scan when I should have been 9 weeks, it showed a fetus measuring about 8 weeks but with no heart beat. I opted for an ERPC which was carried out the next day. My pregnancy test is still positive 16 days later. I would be really be grateful for advice from anyone with experience of this and how quick can I expect my hcg levels to return to normal. It ridiculous but all I can think about is getting pregnancy again and feel like this is the only thing that is going to take the pain away I know it’s likely I am going to have to wait.

@Lovechild2016 sorry to see no one replied but your not alone. About few months after you the same happened to me. Was complete. This was my third loss with no children. I hope you got the support you needed and are on a path of recovery. These forums helped me. I want to return the same to others. X

You usually need to be monitored with blood or urine HCG’s for around 6 months after a molar pregnancy, as there is a possibility that some of the molar cells can be left behind in your uterus which can cause significant problems. This may be way your HCG has remained positive. You shouldn’t make any plans to TTC again until your appt with gynae.
