I am convinced my baby won't come until I am fully ready, I desperately need to dye my hair and put my gel polish on my hands and toes as I have left it for ages but I just know she won't make her appearance until I do these things
Am I totally ridiculous 😂
I know i will get a few crappy responses to this but I'm prepared for that!
I was also convinced I was having a baby girl, I saw so many signs before we found out. Private scan then said boy! NHS 20 week scan then actually confirmed baby girl and all scans since confirm girl. I'm 37+7 and have a feeling she will arrive early but won't until I have everything sorted

Not really what you asked but at my antenatal class they said that they have to remove gel nails if you need a c-section as they need to put a monitor on your finger. Sounds like you're not having a planned c-section but if the nails are expensive they might not be worth it if you did end up needing a c-section soon after you get them done.

I actually am having a c-section so that Is really useful to know so thank you! Can I wear normal nail varnish do you know?

They take off all varnish. I had an EMCS and they took all the polish off my toes! Maybe just give your nails and toes a nice clean up and file. Good Luck!

I just do them myself at home anyway so it won't cost me anything so taking it off won't bother me!
I just don't feel like I have made an effort at all recently so I'm not fully prepared, I have some make up I need to top up on too because I know once baby is here I will struggle to get out and get it and I'm going to want to make myself look presentable ASAP after feeling so run down for so long (I know having a baby changes everything so I don't expect to get fully dolled up again) but I will have a damn good go!

I think you’re supposed to take it off, same with make up as your extremities are the first to go blue as an indicator of blood circulation dropping off so if you have either of those on it masks it

Lovely thank you ladies! I think just until I am ready to go in I will paint them and then remove it all before my c section, just so I feel prepared and pretty, I hate having bare nails so it will atleast be a little pick me up before she does come! I have roughly 13 days until I will be going in anyway

I felt like that with both of mine. DD1 arrived day after I’d got all my little jobs done and was 3 days over due. Convinced the same would happen with DS. Felt like I was definitely going to go overdue and had loads of little jobs and errands to do. Cue DS arriving two days early and me being less than ready! Picked up some ready meals and nappies on way home from hospital as hadn’t even got a shop in 😕 they sleep a lot in the first few months so even if she comes early you’ll have a bit of time to do things the other side - if you feel up to it! Also amazing how things that seem important when you’re pregnant fade into the background once baby arrives.

I felt like this during pregnancy. I was admitted for monitoring and due to have an (early) elective C section the following week.

I was given permission to go home for two hours to pack an overnight bag and I drove straight to the hairdressers. Afterwards I dropped home to grab my overnight bag and headed back to the hospital.

I couldn't bear the thought of being so unready and I really wasn't ready as my baby needed delivering unexpectedly. I wanted to feel a bit more polished.

The baby wasn't in any danger as I'd been signed out of the unit for two hours.

Bless you, of course you’re not being ridiculous x

No nail polish as they need to monitor oxygen levels through your nail beds with pulse oximetry probes.
