Help with keeping baby cool in summer

We live in a townhouse with a big glass front over looking the water and facing the sun. The bedrooms at the top of the house become so hot in summer and the rest of the house is not much better. Baby due in June. Already use a big dyson fan in the bedroom but the room will still be far too hot. Checked in shop and adding a second dyson won't make much difference. Anyone else had this problem? Any solutions you can suggest?

Thank you

Thank you some more good suggestions to look into. Has anyone bought or hired an air conditioning unit they could recommend?

Black out blinds
Washing drying
Windows open (just a little though, not loads)
Well placed fans (to create a breeze)

Look on the lullaby trust. They have "summer rules" for when it's hotter. Not all of us can live somewhere cool

Just by way of an update. I have got a portable air con unit from a company recommended to me. It has brought the temp right down meaning egg no longer angry! It will probably be quite expensive to run but the actual price of the unit was similar to a dyson fan.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like we will be having a cool summer afterall!

Would you mind sharing which unit you got?

@lanesra2 what ac did you get? :)

It's called an Aspen Pumphouse. The company that sorted it for me is based in Hampshire - koolrunnings.

You can get UV film for your windows which is supposed to keep the heat out, I am considering it as we have a similar issue with our daughter's bedroom. When she was small we just used to put her to sleep in a different room at the other side of the house. Often her room had cooled down by late evening and we could move her back into her room, it was at bedtime when it was hottest. By cautious with some black out blinds, we had the stick on version and although they were brilliant at keeping light out they effectively acted as an insulator preventing any heat escaping out of the room and made it even hotter!
