Why do I keep feeling like I'm going to pass out?

First happened a few weeks ago when I was on the tube, suddenly started feeling very light headed and dizzy, ears ringing etc which are signs that I'm about to faint, so I had to crouch down and bow my head forward until I felt better. At the time I put it down to the fact that I'd been jogging/semi power walking (for a specific reason, not exercise) and the tube was quite hot. But last night it happened again when I was at a friends house. I was feeling light headed again so sat down but it didn't really make me feel any better so I had to excuse myself and go and sit on the loo and put my head between my knees. I wasn't particularly thirsty or hungry at the time although it had been a little while since I'd eaten, the room wasn't hot, I really can't think what triggered it!

I'm 16+4 today, my blood pressure was checked at a midwife appointment a couple of days ago and it was fine, urine test showed my sugar was a bit high but we put that down to the fact that I'd just polished off a bowl of pasta and tomato sauce. Can anyone think what might be causing this? I just don't want it to happen again when I'm somewhere I can't get into a position to recover.

Perhaps something to do w blood sugar? Make sure to eat more frequent. See if that helps.

When I had this in pregnancy it was because my blood pressure was at the lower side of normal. I found making sure I drank plenty of water throughout the day helped. Also was anaemic around the same time so could have added to it.

Low iron? Mention it to your MW and go for a blood test.

I have the same.. I'm only 11+4. Waiting for blood test results but for now I just keep a packet of mini eggs in my pocket just in case!!! Keeping something sugary on you might help?

Almost certainly aneamia!

I felt like this due to low iron. I started taking floradix with orange juice daily and felt fine the rest of the pregnancy. You may need a stronger iron tablet though.

I got this occasionally in early pregnancy. I had low blood pressure at the time, and also impaired glucose tolerance.

I think it can also be caused by reduced iron levels.

It is worth mentioning it to your midwife and getting some blood tests arranged.

I had a lot of dizziness in my last pregnancy. Drastically improved when I made an effort to drink more water.

I had something similar and it was having a bite to eat that helped me personally. I never left the house without a snack again! Feel better soon op Thanks
