So, low down is. I’m 21 weeks, due 22/09 September. I haven’t told work i’n Pregnant and won’t be until 25 weeks because of my situation. As of 1st July I’m meant to be tupee transferring over to another company who unfortunately are based over an hour away from my home and are not being very reasonable with working arrangements despite me saying it’s a long way to travel. They have screwed me over and told me in the first meeting I could work from local points or from home but now have changed their story. I could stay with the company I’m currently at if they have a role for me or I’d have to apply for a job. This is what I want to do, i’d Be staying with the people I enjoy working with and be more local. I’ve told a few people I’m pregnant in the office and they know to keep it quiet for when the big managers are around who I’m trying to impress. I am having a meeting with one of these managers Monday to try and impress and have a chat about my situation. I’m just a sensitive person and feel bad that if they do allow me to stay , I then tell them I’m pregnant and they are annoyed at me!! But surely this is why the 25 week thing is in place? It’s discrimination if they said anything? I’m a good employee who good and very experienced in my role and well thought of by a lot of people! Your thoughts?

I’m no expert but wouldn’t you be more protected in your job if you told them you are pregnant? They may also be more amenable to you working closer/from home.

You may want to post in the employment section as lots of knowledgeable HR people around.

Yeah personally I'd tell them now as above post

Agreed. OP are you based in UK? UK employment law is designed to protect pregnant women, and lots of companies HR will bend over for pregnant women - they don't want to be sued! (Sadly few are so accommodating for women returning to work.)

I'd be upfront with you manager and explain your situation. Hopefully they'll be able to help quickly - this is the last thing you need to be worrying about.

My line manager knows and said it may be best to leave it as long as I can to officially tell work just incase my chances are hindered if I say I’m pregnant. They agree it shouldn’t do and that’s discrimination but been advised that the best way to go??!
