I have had two very complicated pregnancies both resulting in baby being born at 31 weeks, I'm currently 37 weeks and booked for c section in 2 weeks. How long roughly should I be kept in if everything goes "to plan"

I had an elective section with no complications and was up walking within 6hrs, showered the next morning and home within 24hrs. I was desperate to get home to my own bed, my other child and real food! My advice is take the pain meds and keep moving, the only time my pain was bad was when I sat still for too long.

I stayed 2 nights.

2 nights with my first then 36 hours with my second. I had urinary retention the second time and felt ok to go home within 24 hours but I was still having trouble peeing at that point.

I was in for 4 days, but had a few complications.

They wanted to discharge me within 24 hours but I —demanded— asked to stay a second night as I really didn’t feel fit or able to leave.

2 nights with my first (+3 nights of failed induction), 2 nights with my second, 2 nights with my third despite fainting on my way back.from.the shower 18 hours later they were keen to discharge me. To be honest I think it's pretty dangerous to be discharging women as soon as they do sometimes.

24 hours but I really wanted to leave

24 hour but all went well, the midwifes were really good at this hospital. No pressure to leave, checked feeding was established. I was in two minds about leaving so early but the food is rank and you can’t sleep / so hot so went home.
