I'm 4+1 with baby #2 after 18 months ttc. I thought getting the BFP would be the end of my worries but what was I thinking?! I'm so anxious that somethings going to go wrong! I'm analyzing every small little symptom now, like my boobs feel less sore today, why is that? I'm not feeling sleepy or more tired than usual, it's too early for that right? My appetite has gone down when with my first I was super hungry for the first few weeks! I felt a small amount of clear watery vaginal discharge and now I can't stop examining the tissue for signs!

Please tell me this is all normal?

@Emz
The weeks are very confusing! If your last period was 4.5 weeks ago, you’re called ‘4.5 weeks’ but are actually only 2.5 weeks, or could be less if you ovulated late.

Re scans: I asked the midwife for an early scan when I spoke on the phone to arrange the booking appointment, but she said I would have to have had 3 miscarriages to be eligible for an early scan on the NHS. I have miscarried twice and I’m almost 42, so I’m nervous. The 3 miscarriage rule seems harsh.

I might get a private scan, or even beg my GP to refer me for a scan, but right now I’m just trying to get through to the c. 7 week mark where a scan would actually show something. The midwife appointment is in 10 days, not a fortnight as I said earlier - time seems to be moving very slowly for me right now!

@turquoiseturtle
Everything will be okay. Talking helps I think because you can get it off your head rather than talking to yourself (which I am doing constantly).
Im sure your scan will come quickly xx

Daisyboo70 · 18/05/2019 12:44

I know @turquoiseturtle the mc rule is so wrong we shouldn't have to go through it 3 times. @EmzFirst they won't normally scan you before 6wks unless there's a reason such as bleeding or pain near ovaries. They are doing mine due to ovary pain my left one feels swollen and I can't lay on my left side

Samid76 · 18/05/2019 13:26

I’m currently 7+5 weeks pregnant and I worried that my pregnancy is coming to an end 😞 I have already had 2 previous miscarriages so I think I was always going to be somewhat anxious this time around. I had light pink spotting at 5+2 weeks which literally just lasted a couple of hours so I instantly just started thinking the worst. I had my 1st midwife appointment at 6+2 weeks and they didn’t seem bothered about the spotting, they took my bloods and a wee sample (which for some reason wasn’t checked). I then started spotting red blood yesterday literally just on the tissue when I went to the toilet, I had mild lower right back pain and ended up at the EPU which led to me having an internal examination and some more blood taken, they wouldn’t scan me then and have booked me in for a scan on Monday when I’ll be 8wks. Just so worried that my pregnancy has already ended and wondered if anyone had any advice?TIA

turquoiseturtle · 18/05/2019 18:38

@EmzFirst thank you so much for your kind words of support. Yes I think it’s probably time I phoned a friend!

@pinkstar01 hope things are going well for you and that you’re able to relax a bit.

@Samid76 sorry to hear that! I would try to rest up as much as possible and wait for the scan - and do things that will calm you and settle your mind, personally I found colouring books very helpful! But keep an eye on things, and call the EPU if you start to bleed more heavily or have bad cramping. It’s probably nothing serious, I believe it’s quite common for women to bleed harmlessly in early pregnancy, and in particular around the time they would have had their period if they weren’t pregnant, which would fit with your dates. Hope all goes well on Monday xx

MummyBearBoo · 20/05/2019 20:07

Got my scan in 11th June I'll be 9 weeks so it's a week later than my dating scan should be and it seems so far away especially as the days seem to last forever!!! X

Daisyboo70 · 21/05/2019 11:27

Been for my scan it wasn't good news, can only see a small bubble (sonographer words) no where near size of 7 wks. Bloods now to rule out ectopic. It possibly just stopped growing won't know til my second load of bloods Thursday

MummyBearBoo · 21/05/2019 19:51

Oh no I'm so sorry @Daisyboo70 xx

Weejulz · 21/05/2019 20:53

First pregnancy for me, been trying for about 5 years now and it's finally happened! Husband had the reversal which we thought hadn't worked - he already has 2 from previous relationship and I never thought we'd be able to add to this so I'm over the moon 😁

Going by my cycle I calculated it at 6weeks (due 13th jan) went for an early scan today as I just needed it confirmed and looks like I'm only around 5 weeks but everything looks fine so far. Will go back for another one in a few weeks, no way I can wait until week 12!

Anxious, shocked, excited all in one!!

tomatan1990 · 22/05/2019 08:43

Can I join in please ladies! Congratulations to everyone first.
I had a mmc at the end of March this year and am now 4+2 and driving myself mad with symptoms or lack of! I have had a slight ache in my right side and have convinced myself it’s ectopic. Last time my boobs hurt before I even did the test this time nothing! I know I am being overly anxious and I’m trying to remind myself to take it one day at a time, and this is a completely different egg and sperm but it’s so hard!

Daisyboo70 · 22/05/2019 09:36

@tomatan1990 please get that right side pain checked. No symptoms can be normal as every pregnancy is different but any concerns get it checked out. I had both and mine wasn't good news xx

tomatan1990 · 22/05/2019 09:49

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that Daisy. Will you find out today if it’s ectopic or not? I don’t think I will be able to get to the docs this week now so will try Tuesday if it’s still there.

Daisyboo70 · 22/05/2019 10:13

@tomatan1990 second bloods tomorrow and they will then go by the readings. So I should hear tomorrow afternoon or Friday

tomatan1990 · 22/05/2019 11:29

EmzFirst · 22/05/2019 13:14

So I went for an appointment Monday with midwife and she turned me away and asked me to book in when I'm 8 weeks . I had an eptopic in 2014 and I only new a few days befor having surgery that I was pregnant . So this time I'm paranoid,anxious ect and felt worse after being told they can't do anything untill 8 weeks x

Daisyboo70 · 22/05/2019 13:36

@EmzFirst ring your gp explain your anxiety due to previous ectopic ask can you be referred for a early scan at your local epu. I had to go through my gp as the midwife didn't want to know.

EmzFirst · 22/05/2019 14:04

@daisyboo70
I was so gobsmacked.. she phoned another midwife to confirm that they didn't book people in untill 8 weeks and then scan in 12 weeks.

Last time I had felt constipated for so long 2plus weeks I think , and mum said it's wind/constipation, pharmacy said the same . I took a pregnancy test on the Saturday morning and by the Thursday I had my tube removed with a mass of a golf ball ... So I'm paranoid as hell

Daisyboo70 · 22/05/2019 19:32

@EmzFirst give your gp a ring in the morning, or if your local hospital has a epu give them a ring for advice. They should be keeping an eye on you this time

EmzFirst · 22/05/2019 19:47

@daisyboo70

I have phoned today and asked for a telephone appointment tomorrow as next appoint face to face isn't untill next week ..

The midwife suggested counseling ect and I now feel a bit peeved off as that's not going to help ... Iv had help prior . And I'm okay now it's just the anxiety if this pregnancy. ....plus the baby will be here by the time I get seen as waiting lists are soo long 😂😂😂

pinkstar01 · 22/05/2019 21:00

I'm 6 weeks today and there is no more anxiety about the pregnancy anymore as I'm knee deep in constant nausea and wishing to god that I reach 12 weeks quickly!

How's everyone else getting on?

@Daisyboo70 so sorry to hear that, how are you getting on hun?

MummyBearBoo · 23/05/2019 08:03

@pinkstar01 - my symptoms didn't start properly til 5 weeks now at 6+3 I feel shocking! Tired, sick sore boobs, thirsty, not hungry, stomach ache etc! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 23/05/2019 08:16

You have to be booked in before 10 weeks usually -I had a bit of a farce too coz they gave me a booking appt 3rd June by which time I'll be 8 weeks and I have to have a dating scan around 8 weeks so I can have CVS at 11 weeks but my midwife called some other midwives in the are and one had an appointment free that Thursday (lat week) so I got booked in then - if they can't fit you in they should find someone who can - the booking In time for 'normal people' who don't need CVS is 7-10 weeks tho. Hope you get it sorted. Xx

Napqueen1234 · 23/05/2019 09:55

Hi I feel absolutely the same. With my first DD I 'felt' pregnant straight away whereas I am around 4/5 weeks and feel absolutely fine. Other than missed AF and BFP I wouldn't know I was pregnant. Im terrified at 12 weeks it will be a MMC and every day Im distracted trying to think 'do I feel sick?' 'was that a cramp??' Considering saving up for a private scan between 6 and 8 weeks for reassurance. I think im more anxious because we were actually TTC this time! And I keep seeing single magpies Hmm. Sending lots of love and well wishes to everyone for happy healthy pregnancies!

EmzFirst · 23/05/2019 17:07

@daisyboo70 .. how are things going Hun ?? Hope your okay . Thank you for your advice ... The GP was shockingly shit aswell. He said epu wouldn't see me only if I had pain or blood. He said he would call epu ... And guess what .. I was right . I have a scan booked in for next week. Xx
