Over heating during exercise

Hi ladies!

I'm 4 weeks +3 with my first baby.
I have continued spinning as a means of exercising however today I felt a sudden rush of heat (I immediately slowed. My pace down).
I have now had a panic after reading into over heating causing brain damage in early feotal development!!

I suppose I'm just looking for some reasurrance from another new mom who exercised during pregnancy and maybe got a little hot!?

Hi i had a active job and often got hot & diddnt do anything to my babies.
Just take it slower ,your body is going through changes.
Dont worry & dont read online just put things in your head & most of that things dont happen. Ive made the mistake of doing it & made me crazy .

Hi OP, it's unlikely that your core body temperature will have elevated just because you felt a bit flushed - the body is really good at maintaining the same temperature. Though you were right to respond to how you felt. Great that you're still spinning (I don't do that but I'm pretty sporty and do use my bike on a turbo trainer) - the general advice is that you need to use rate of perceived exertion rather than HR to make sure you don't push yourself too hard, and make sure you stay hydrated. If you aren't taking a multivitamin with iron in it you might want to look at taking iron (my GP's advice was to use Pregnacare as a guide for how much to take) as I noticed that I started to feel quite weak when I was about 6-7 weeks along and my bloods came back to show that my haemoglobin and hematocrit levels were low for me (borderline normal so didn't flag up) which was really noticible as I'm so used to doing a fair amount of training.
