Falling Pregnant with Withdrawal

I was just wondering if any of you have fallen pregnant when a man hasn't ejaculated inside them? Just been in & out briefly - I know it's possible. I'm pretty irregular anyway but this is a long time even for me! Feel so bloated constantly, & cramps like I'm about to come on for days but nothings happening & stomach keeps going itchy all over. Took pregnancy test but not even faintest line.

When did sex occur? I think it's unlikely you are pregnant. The withdrawal method is actually pretty effective - provided you are smart about it. No ejaculate around vulva, including from fingers, he needs to be free of drink and drugs, and have urinated since last ejaculation

Have you seen doctor about irregular cycles?

UKWoman · 07/05/2019 09:18

Yes have always had them - I have epilepsy & think it's due to my medication

The withdrawal method is useless so yes it’s possible. It’s also possible you may have a STD. Speak to your GP

There is something called pre-cum, which in some men contains sperm, and in others does not. Hence reading since wildly contrasting stories about the withdrawal method. Is works really well for some men, and not at all for others. If there is no line on the pregnancy test, I would say you are not pregnant.

Such, not since.

Didn’t work for us 😂 have an 8 week old now! We were open to getting preg though so all good 🤣

Yes, sorry for tmi but my oh withdrew cleaned himself up and carried on again for a few seconds after. Apparently some sperm can lurk around inside the man and he either didn't effectively withdraw or they decide to swim when he went again even so I presumed the odds were slim to none in that instance, apparently that's all it takes. Happy now but massive shock as the only time we took that chance. X

@teddybear45 curious what made you think of std, the op not coming on? Or because she used withdrawal method?x

PencereTencere · 07/05/2019 13:10

You know that old saying...

What do they call people who use the withdrawal method? PARENTS.

stucknoue · 07/05/2019 14:00

It's very unreliable, our dd2 arrived thanks to that particular method of (not) contraception

flumpybear · 07/05/2019 14:11

Very unreliable method of contraception - take a POAS

Teddybear45 · 07/05/2019 14:32

@justus22- certain quite serious stds can cause irregular periods if they become bad enough. Need to see a doctor to rule them out. With her using withdrawal she might have caught something.

Cosmogirl86 · 07/05/2019 14:50

@teddybear45 that's super judgemental. How do you know OP hasn't been in a monogamous relationship for last decade? You literally know nothing about the circumstances

Cookit · 07/05/2019 15:20

I would imagine it’s fairly unlikely as you’ve had a negative test. If you were late due to pregnancy and the bloating was a pregnancy symptom you’d expect to be getting a positive by now.

Justus22 · 08/05/2019 09:35

I agree @cosmogirl86 very odd thing to conclude from the OP's message @teddybear45, unless you jumped to that conclusion through your own experience and have a genuine sensitivity and reason for raising awareness of the rare possibility OP's circumstances are connected with an STD too. Still you can have irregular periods for all sorts of reasons so I'd say go to the doctors if concerned so they can check for pregnancy or any other reason for your unusually late period. Xx
