Hehe, I know there are Bugaboo haters but I love it, can't wait to get it!! Got it in Sand/Chocolate!

Quick question those for anyone who uses it with Maxi Cosi car seat - can you keep the adaptors on and fit car seat in car (not to be used with base) or do I have to take adaptors off car seat before fitting?

Thanks

Must take the car seat clips off before putting seat in car.

Mines in yellow, we love it, although it has been thrown across some car parks etc in past (may I add with the child being some where safe at the time) when the bloody contraption really pisses me off!

Word of warning, on the beach in the drag mode, great, love it, the whole system fills with sand and deposits it all over my car, house, everywhere!

Kags248 · 18/07/2007 20:34

I never took the adaptors off my maxi cosi, but would suggest putting a t towel or something on the seat to stop indentations.

It took us a while to get used to ours, but once you have sussed it you will be fine. Plus every other person has one, so if you get stuck just ask the next Mummy that comes along.

Good luck with it.

Well ladies you may be able to help me.
A friend of mine due in Oct id determined to have one and with a pink hood etc.
Her last dd was stillborn and I really want to help her-where is the best/cheapest place to get it?

CarGirl · 18/07/2007 20:43

poshbugs on ebay (on here too) does customised sets of hoods and covers for £50ish???? That would be very special perhaps?

CarGirl · 18/07/2007 20:44

not sure about cheapest place to buy the bases & frame package would she have 2nd hand?

Whooosh · 18/07/2007 20:46

Because she lost her last daughter, this one is so very special-and she is still far from out of the woods. She wouldn't have a 2nd hand one but really can't afford it which is why I want to help as much financiallyas I can.

Patronuscharm · 18/07/2007 20:46

Blimey - my pram cost £125 from Mothercare. Makes me seem a cheapskate in comparison. It did last me 2.5 years though so was pleased with it. Did the job. Am going to have to look up Bugaboo now to see what I missed - not that I could have afforded one lol.

CarGirl · 18/07/2007 20:47

Presumably you could just get the carrycot bit to start of with which must save money - get the pushchair fabrics later?

Whooosh · 18/07/2007 20:49

Would be happy with that CarGirl-i think she needs/wants a black chassis with the pink accessories-so is that a hood and carrycot cover?
Do they do pink puschair fabric??

helenelisabeth · 18/07/2007 20:50

Whoosh whereabouts does your friend live? I bought mine in Merseyside and they do 10% off so what would cost you £600 in John Lewis etc costs you £540 where I bought mine.

bugaboo gets sold with all the fabrics, carrycot and seat.

tbh they are a set price at around £599 for cameleons. probably the best place, if she wants to pay bit by bit and not put it on credit is glasgow pram centre. they do a system called easy pay, you pay a deposit, then pay off as much as you can afford till its paid for then it gets sent out.

CarGirl · 18/07/2007 20:52

yes & yes (I think!), There was a baby shop in bath that offered 10% off too. I think you may be able to get the hood and cover cheaper on ebay than the shop but I'm not sure. Misdee would probably know but obviously really busy at the moment.

morningglory · 18/07/2007 20:52

You might want to wait a bit. Bugaboo has a new, lighweight, more compact model coming out in September (at least in the US) called the Bee. Also, there is a fantastic looking combi from Joolz called the Joolz Bloom which is coming out in September (at least in the Netherlands). The Joolz Bloom looks fantastic. Like a Bugaboo, but lighter, more compact. Should be a bit cheaper (about 500 euro). Given the choice, I'd go with the Joolz Bloom. I have a Bugaboo Frog from my first pregnancy, but I'm planning on getting the Joolz Bloom also (with first, didn't have car and now I do, so I need something more portable).

Whooosh · 18/07/2007 21:17

oooh-thank you all-this is making me broody

OK for the uneducated-what is the difference between frog, cameleon and the other one?

MadEyeMisdee · 18/07/2007 21:20

frog is discontinued. choice are gecko (small basic, still get carrycot and seat), slightly lighter, smaller over all, non-adjustable handle. cant change fabrics.

cameleon, adjustable handle, changable fleeces, bigger seat and carrycot, easier to change seat positions.

ScottishMummy · 18/07/2007 21:24

baby trader seem cheap and free postage the price ncludes the fabrics (inc the new fabric denier ones) for £535 so saving £70ish

""baby trader websitewww.babytrader.co.uk/""

i recommend Glasgow pram centre - excellent service so far

someone mentioned Joolz, never heard of it but lookey here and extra for accessories eg shopping basket, sun hood...looks smart esp silver
