Childbirth after haemorrhage ?

Has anyone had a good birth after haemorrhaging ? With my second son my doctor pulled the cord to get the placenta out causing my uterus to invert which caused major bleeding now I'm in two minds wether to give natural another go or just have a c section! Obviously with two children already it would be better for me to try natural I have my consultant meeting on the 31st just want to hear some other people's stories please.

I can't offer any advice but just want to say, it'd be good to know what to do. I had retained placenta and haemorrhaged with my first. I'm pregnant with my second and I don't know what to do for the best when it comes to giving birth and what is safest.

A staff nurse (not a midwife) on the maternity unit when I went to epu suggested to have a planned section to make me feel in control of the situation because I felt my first was so out of control because he came quick even with assistance and I went through a traumatic afterbirth. I want to avoid a repeat of that at all cost. I am hoping my consultant and midwife can offer some helpful advice.

Hi I'm also pregnant with second after major (nearly 2l) pph with my first. I was told a section increases the chance of bleeding (as do apparently all the other interventions). I also have to have a consultant meeting which hasn't happened yet but in general the midwife told me they just like to to have a hospital birth and will want to put a cannula in early. She said they'll probably recommend managed third stage.
It depends how bad your first bleed was though and other circumstances. My friend had emcs last time and a much worse bleed than me - 3.5l, a transfusion and a general anaesthetic while they stopped it. She has to have elcs next time (nothing to do with bleeding it's the shape of her uterus) and they will have blood typed and on standby in the theatre for her.

Oh really, yeah I had to have 6 bags of blood last time. But I also heard a c section can increase the risk of bleeding which is scary, it's just scary with the placenta thing but my midwife did say I'd have the best medical team , blood on standby and a lot of care during and after to ensure they are ready for anything. I'm just so scared 😩 plus everyone around me trying to tell me how I should have this baby isn't helping at all just causing me more stress and upset!

I had an 800ml bleed with DD, because my bladder was too full and stopped my placenta from coming out. I was really worried with my second pregnancy as I had a lot of complications, including not being able to BF as I became anaemic.
But I had a perfect birth with DS and although I didn't BF with him either it was through choice and I had no complications at all Smile

Oh your making me feel better I loved giving birth so much so hopefully I can do it with no complications! I just want everything to be good 😩

Part of my placenta retained after DC2 was born and I had to be rushed into theatre for an emergency ERPC. Massive haemorrhage, lost 4 pints of blood and needed two transfusions.

Birth with DC3 was fine. Did start to lose a little bit too much but was given an injection to slow it, placenta came out fine. Had an ELCS with DC4 and no major blood loss (despite endless warnings from consultants Hmm).

Could go either way but in all likelihood will be fine.
