Because of pregnancy complications I’m being induced later this month.

What do you wish you’d known? What should I be sure to pack? Anything I can do to help the process along?

It can be a long process failed after three days with me.
Pack snacks and juice
Ear plugs eye mask
Couple of books to read
Charger
Ipad
Journal as you may want to make a diary
to look back on
Ask for a birthing ball to bounce on

I wish I'd known it would be absolutely okay and that I would be calm and happy when I delivered my baby.
I had wanted a water birth so was pretty disappointed that had all gone out the window and spent a long time worrying about induction.

It did take a while though! 2 nights in hospital before I gave birth, wish I had ear plugs and eye mask from the beginning!

Same as OP - Heard and read so many horror stories about inducing but I had an amazing experience and couldn’t have asked for a better birth experience.

Highly recommend The Positive Birthing Company digital pack if you’re experiancing any anxiety about birth / induced etc as it’s super helpful for many things including breathing techniques. Helped me heaps!

Use a Birthing ball at home if you can to see what positions feel better for you as it can help a lot during labour. I loved doing yoga with it and found being forward or squatting was the most comfy whilst pregnant... ended up squatting him out!

Other than that take entertainment with you an lots of snacks!

Drink lots and lots of water on the lead up to it all if you don’t normally - I was being monitored for reduced movement and they had me drinking ALOT of water - more than the 2/3 litres I normally have and I do think this helped massively during labour.

Sleep as much as you can too once pessary has been given - all will help in labour.

My personal experience was one pessary and then it got taken out in the morning as my body didn’t take well to it - surges had started half an hour of being inserted so I guess it did what it needed to and then out!

Hope you have a fab experience!
