Pregnant with second Dc, didn't ask with Ds because I wanted to wait and wasn't planning on asking with this one. But Dp is desperate to know, he wanted to with Ds too but I said no.

I know they can't always tell anyway and that the sex isn't the purpose of the scan, but now I can't decide if we should ask or not.
We won't have a private scan so if they can't tell clearly we won't know and we've only just had our 12 week scan so got a while before the next one.

But I was just curious to what others are doing and reasons why.... just can't wait or think it's easier to prepare if you know.

I quite liked with Ds that me and Dp has a little time with him in the hospital when only we knew (and the midwife and hospital staff of course). But it was nice and phoning people to say 'we've had a boy'.

We found out with DS, and it made me feel closer to him. Because I was able to call him by his name and imagine our future together, so I will be finding out with this one as well.

We found out with DC1 and will be finding out next weekend with DC2.

DH and I want to find out, and DS(3) is adamant that I'm having a boy so if we find out I'm having a girl it gives him time to prepare for that.

I've also got about 15 bin bags filled with clothes from the first time around and I'd like to know whether to keep them or give them to charity.

We found out - I think I wanted to know really and DH went along with it. I'm glad we did it. Turns out we needed to 100% decide on a name well in advance so in the end we would have had to find out even if we didn't want to. Just for practical reasons. We haven't told anyone else - well, except a couple of airlines for flights we've booked and the local passport office for name spelling info.

We found out both times and so they were both named from 20 weeks. I had miserable pregnancies so it gave me a happy focus to talk to them and buy clothes etc. And for the second one, it meant we could prepare his older brother and talk about the baby using a name etc.

We did find out but if we have anymore we have agreed to
Leave it was a surprise. It’ll be lovely to just spend an hour or two with baby just us knowing 🙂

I'm not finding it out. I did first time around as baby wasn't planned and I wanted to know gender to help bond. But this baby was planned and I want the surprise

We found out last week and we’re happy with what they’ve told us (sorry can’t say here as we’re keeping the secret to the 2 of us and there are family members on mn who know my username!!) but we’re not telling family/friends until the two of them arrive. Like a pp we also decided that, if it was 1 baby we wouldn’t find out but, as it’s twins, we wanted to know so we can be prepared!!
