Gosh this pregnancy has caused me worry from the beginning! Had spotting on and off thoughout. Have had a scan today at 10 weeks showing baby moving and strong heartbeat. Still losing light red blood when I wipe which is making me so stressed! Has anyone just had bleeding in pregnancy that turned out fine? I'm researching like crazy and just can't get myself to think positive!

Would LOVE some positive stories please!

Thanks ladies Star

I have a positive story, I bled when pregnant with DD till 23 weeks, in the early stages, the placenta tore away slightly which caused some bleeding, the rest of it, we never found out the cause. Finally at 23 weeks the sickness and bleeding lessened, DD is 17 now and has her first driving lesson later today x

With my last two pregnancies I bleed for a good couple of days at week 8 and week 12. At the time I would have been on my period had I not been pregnant! Scared the bejesus out of me. Both pregnancies went to full term with healthy babies

I’ve not RTFT but I had awful heavy bleeding in my last pregnancy from weeks 5-10. Weekly scans and each time convinced I would be having a miscarriage (after fertility treatment to get pregnant in the first place). I had a large subchorionic haematoma that kept growing.

The outcome of that pregnancy is 11 weeks old and currently napping in her crib.

Good luck OP - success stories are what gave me hope in my darkest moments in those early days xxx

I had bleeding on and off for the first two months including one big bleed that made me sure I was having a miscarriage. All fine and DS is currently snoring on my chest! It's so frightening, fingers crossed for you OP.

Cattenberg · 29/04/2019 12:32

I had a haematoma. It only ever showed up on one ultrasound scan, but I had spotting every few days until I was about 11 weeks pregnant. I had occasional light bleeding after this, but DD was fine and is now a healthy one-year-old.

@Skittle1 thank you for making this post, and thank you all so much for these replies. I am in the very early stages (5+5) and had some bleeding today. I got myself in such a state I've had to come home from work and just have a good cry. Midwife advised to wait 48hrs and see. It's lovely to hear it really might be ok and feel a bit of hope Smile

Skittle1 · 29/04/2019 14:46

I know! It's been so reassuring! Fingers crossed for you too lovely xx

I had two big bleeds with my twins at 17 weeks and again at 24 weeks. They’ve just turned four!

I had a really bad scare at 14 weeks pregnant! Started off with brown blood when I wiped so went to a and e and they checked me over but said I was fine and just to come back if it got worse. It continued and eventually I was gushing fresh blood and cramping. I had absolutely convinced myself it was over. I managed to get a scan in for the next morning and everything was absolutely fine! No explanation for the bleeding at all - but apparently it is more common than you think. I am currently sitting with my 4 month old daughter snoring away in my arms so keep positive Flowers

Yes! Hospitalised at 12 weeks with bleeding and now have a happy healthy nearly 2 yr old

ALittleBitofVitriol · 29/04/2019 15:41

Seeing a good strong heartbeat at 10 weeks is an encouraging sign op! Hope everything is okay!

I bled at some point while pregnant with a couple of my kids and it turned out fine. I also bled and miscarried twice so I know the anxiety well. Flowers

Motheroffeminists · 29/04/2019 18:01

I bled every time. Endometriosis and a cervical erosion were responsible I believe. The youngest is currently sat comatose in front of the tv after his day at nursery. The other two are at their dad's. Little buggers, all of them 😂 I was forever at the hospital in those early weeks. Good luck to you, I know how anxiety inducing it is. All the paranoid knicker checking and fretting. Then when they are born you just fret about something else 😩 Best little buggers ever though 😊

Good luck with your scan today OP! Fingers crossed you'll be able to add to these success stories

Thinking of you today xx

This thread is filled with positivity just love it. Im currently 17+4 with ds2 after suffering a bleed last Friday. Was checked out and told everything was fine and they found the heartbeat etc. I just can't relax into this pregnancy at all after having three recurrent miscarriages at 6,8,15 weeks after my son. Glad to read so many positive outcomes.
Good luck at scan today OP

Skittle1 · 30/04/2019 11:40

It is filled with positivity, I'm so glad I created the post! Had the scan today which showed baby is FINE!! I have a small hematoma (bruise) which is where pregnancy implanted. Apparently this is super common and some women bleed from them and others don't. They said it should clear up itself! So happy and hope I can relax in this pregnancy a little more!!! Hope anyone else who needs to, takes comfort from this board. Thanks to everyone who replied to me!! You helped me so much. I will make sure I help others on posts in the future!!

Congratulations on the good news! Thanks

wasthataburp · 30/04/2019 19:02

I've bled throughout both my pregnancies and both babies were absolutely fine. They said they did not know the cause and that sometimes this just happens. Still scary though !

KatLP · 30/04/2019 20:34

I just want to say thank you for posting about this topic. I am also struggling with continuous spotting and bleeding and although my scans have said everything is fine, it’s so hard not to worry. This post has brightened up my daily fears today. Thank you Star xxx

nickyXjayno · 01/05/2019 08:14

I had light spotting for a day week 6 but touch wood nothing since

ArisaMiura3 · 01/05/2019 21:11

Yes, subchorionic hematoma starting from 8 weeks, lasted about 4 weeks and was crazy worried, but it just cleared by itself. I took it easy for 3 days (self imposed bed rest). Various degrees of shades, consistency of blood and read all possible horror stories on google. 35 wks now and all perfectly fine. In any case, seems to be quite common and with a positive outcome generally.
