Third Pregnancy and worried

Hi,
I’m 37weeks pregnant with my 3rd, I have one 3 yr old and one 18month old at home already. I’m terrified of going into labour with no one with me and just my two children. My husband works 30-40mins away and worried he won’t get home in time. My 2nd was born in 55mins, so was very quick. I’m worried this will be quicker and I’ll end up having them with no one with Me.

Any advice, tips, suggestions welcome

Hi i have fast labour's one of mine was born at home in under 10mins, if u find yourself like that make sure u have towels & ready to catch your baby, lean over your bed or sofa and try call 999. It wasnt that bad at all ,wasnt that painful either.
Maybe talk to your midwife about inducing you, im getting induced at 36wks but guess places are different in what they do.

Yikes to PP whose labour was 10 minutes!

Tricky one. Do you have any neighbours or relatives close who are closer than your husband who you could rely on to care for your kids while you get an ambulance to hospital? Could your husband work from home for the final weeks of your pregnancy?

I labour fast too (and am 17 weeks with my third!). I'm lucky in that I've been prioritised for a brilliant homebirth team (who would transfer to hospital with me if there is time, as I'm high risk). Last time I was given a fantastically useful piece of paper called a "fast birth protocol" which I followed to the letter when things kicked off, so do ask for this (basically- drop to your hands and knees with your arse in the air to get gravity working against you, try not to push, call the midwife in my case, or dial 999 if you are not with a homebirth team who will come to you).

Also- your hormones are very very unlikely to trigger birth when you are alone in sole charge of two kids. You are most likely to go just as soon as they are in bed, or your mum drives off with them to take them swimming (both these things have happened to friends!)
