Sweet smelling discharge at 32 weeks

Hi guys sorry for the TMI 🤦🏽‍♀️

For the past 12 hours or so I've noticed that I've got an increasing amount of sweet smelling discharge? It's not thin like waters or anything it's more like a mucous type? I've a pad on but it isn't soaking through it it's just leaving it damp.

Anyone any idea what it could be?

Sorry again 🤣

Sweet smelling could be amniotic fluid

Hi what colour is it?,id contact your midwife/doctor just for advice. This far on it is normal to have more discharge but just to be safe id get it checked,im sure it is fine so try not to worry x

I’m certain sweet smelling was waters... mine slowly leaked like this didn’t soak a pad but enough to make it damp. They leaked slowly for around 12 hours for before contractions started. Does it make a pink tinge? I’d get checked out as they can easily test if it is or isn’t xx

Thanks for the reply girls! It's like a milky white colour but it's not thick or anything. I think I'll just give the maternity assessment a wee call for some advice. I've no pain or nothing so god knows what's going on. Hoping it's not my waters it's too early 😓 x

What did they say @meganmc0301
Hope all is okay! How many weeks are you? Xx

meganmc0301 · 27/04/2019 09:19

@Pppppppp1234 they just told me to keep an eye on it but it seems to have settled a bit overnight? They said it could of been just an increase in discharge but if it got worse or I started to have pains to come straight in. I'm 32+2. I'm so ready not to be pregnant but if it could stay in there another few weeks that would be great 😂 xx

Not to alarm you but this is how my waters ‘went’. I was 34+4 and I had what I thought was discharge. Sweet smelling, slightly milky, slightly jelly like. By the time I went to hospital I’d been leaking for 36 hours and was at risk of infection. I wore a pad and walked around for a cpl of hours and took the pad with me to hospital.

Admittedly I had cramping too, baby was back to back.

It won’t harm to get checked over x

@Fontleroy I'm gonna ring back and tell them it hasn't gone away. I'm still leaving pads damp and I've developed an achy pain in my back. Hopefully it's nothing- this is my second baby but I was induced with my first so all this is new to me 🤷🏽‍♀️ xx

How you getting on OP? Have they told you to go in?

meganmc0301 · 27/04/2019 19:15

Just an update guys- they checked me and they said it's not my waters. I had a scan and there was plenty of fluid around the baby. They done the fibronectin test to detect for ammniotic fluid and it was negative. I just got swabs sent off but they told me if it continues to come back. No real contractions picked up on the monitor either, just a few Braxton Hicks. All is well with baby so that's good :) x
