Hi first time posting. A d first pregnancy. I as told not able to convince from age 16 (27 now). I have medical issues and had many medications. Went for MRI scan 12/4/19 it was stopped and told I was pregnant.

Had booking appointment with midwife. Booked to see consultant obstetrician a d my first scan Thursday. As my gp saw MRI results and believes I'm 14 weeks.

At booking app midwife asked if was planning to breastfeed or bottle. Due to my medical issue I believe it's best for both to bottle/formula feed from birth.
Has anyone had experience of this?

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Not the same situation for me so not sure how helpful this will be for you but I formula fed from birth due to medical issues with my baby. I had originally intended to bf. Latching was a problem due to delivery and I decided to try formula on day 2 and feeding went quite smoothly by and large from there.
The hospital supplied it due to all the feeding issues but I believe you can buy starter bottle packs in the major formula brands. I used the Tommy Tippee nature style bottles, Tommy Tippee perfect prep machine to make bottles. I used either ready made or a flask when out and about. Friends and medical professionals were supportive about formula feeding for my situation and I didn't experience any judgement. My husband and mum helped a lot with feeding which was helpful. Baby was very contented but I think that was down to luck.
I'm now wondering what method to use to feed this time as i am pg again too.
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy and feeding journey :)

We're breast and formula feeding because despite everything we've tried there just isn't enough breast milk.

Apart from the absolutely horiffic people at the breastfeeding support group it's been great. We can split the feeding, he's gaining weight nicely and sleeps well at night.

Thank you so much. I discussed with partner and hes very happy and seems excited to help feeding. Espeshially as high chance I'd need a c section. I just know family will have strong opinions about it. Just was worried if midwife would have same opinion or I'd get as much support as if I was breastfeeding
