Hey,
I’m totally new to mumsnet I’m hoping I can get some advice here (still trying to figure out alot of the abbreviations lol) anyways, I’ve just found out I am pregnant literally a couple of hours ago, I am super happy & excited, but I have suffered recurrent miscarriages the last couple of years I’ve had 4, I have a 4 year old daughter and had absolutely no complications during that pregnancy, so I don’t understand why it keeps happening, I was never referred to a miscarriage clinic & also I’ve only recently moved to the uk, I am in so much fear already just the last few hours that I’m going to loose another pregnancy, all week I thought I was getting a period I had cramps and felt really crap so it was a pleasant surprise today, I still have some cramps and feel a bit pre-menstrual even though my test is most certainly positive, has anyone got any advice or been through a similar situation, should I call my GP as soon as possible to see if there is some sort of extra care I can to just maybe have a couple of extra scans etc?

Thanks.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter x

Hey not experienced this myself but a friend had 2 miscarriages and with her current pregnancy she was able to get earlier scans. Could be worth checking with early pregnancy unit or midwife asap and find out!

Wishing you all the best for the pregnancy 💗

Hi I lost 3 babies before this pregnancy I’m currently 13 weeks. I was referred for an early scan by the midwives at my booking appointment due to my history xxx congratulations

I have a history of recurrent miscarriage also and my last pregnancy was a ruptured ectopic- I'm now 4+5 but due to my history and because they were all documented with the hospital/doctors I get scanned fortnightly from 6 weeks.

I would speak to a GP/midwife explain your history and see if they will scan you - be aware though that "reassurance" scans aren't routinely offered in the UK as most women become anxious about their pregnancies and the NHS just doesn't have the capacity to reassure everyone so they prioritises those with the highest risk. Especially as they won't have you're precious medical records for your previous losses

Private scans are widely available and are pretty affordable (£80) x

I didn’t even make it through the night I’ve bled so heavily I don’t know why this keeps happening to me, my OH walked out and has gone to the pub and left me home with my daughter, I’m not sure what to do whether to just stay at home and let it pass or get to a&e, I am so upset. I am only 25 I don’t know why this keeps happening to me.

@EverleighsMom you poor thing. Can you find out if there's an EPU (early pregnancy unit) in your area? Sometimes you can self-refer (ie you don't need your GP to send you). Failing that I would call 111 and ask for some advice 💐

Sorry OP. Personally I would stay home if you are able - being in a&e on a bank holiday whilst bleeding heavily can be embarrassing and humiliating and they'll only say they can't do anything. As long as you are not filling a sanitary towel more than once every 15 mins have a hot bath and the strongest painkillers you can get and try and see it through.

Tell your useless partner to get his arse home and look after your daughter so she doesn't get frightened by what's going on. I've always chosen not to have my partner home when I've miscarried but that's been my choice - he would never have wilfully left me on my own to deal with it xx
