hi
im 19wks+ have 2 dd's and remember night cramps at night

but the last todays i have had severe muscle aches down my thighs and inner groin cant think of anything i did that was in anyway strenous, but its really painful havent done an awful lot of walking today. but when i do i look like the tin man with no oil, cant even walk up and down stairs without clinging to the banister, for my life as well as bringing tears to my eyes.

went to supermarket earlier and when packingmy bags, one leg went into a horrible cramp i almost collapsed on the floor in pain, is this normal i dont remember any pains like this inmy legs through any of my other pregnancies?

please help any ideas, currently running another bath in the hope it eases enough for bedtime.

sounds like SPD

you could try wrapping some wide fabric around your hips, under your bump, to hold the pelvis a bit more firmly

do a search on here, loads of threads and advice about it

if it gets worse you can ask for a referral to a physio

mad4girls · 14/07/2007 21:20

i thought that would hurt more round my belly or hips though

can often hurt low down in your groin/ fanjo area

Yes, sounds like SPD to me too. Speak to your mw, she should be able to refer you to a physio.

mad4girls · 14/07/2007 21:24

i have an antenatal on thursday at the hopsital, do you think i should see someone before or wait till then, plus my local mw not all that sympathetic cant see her wanting to see me before then,

but not sure i can keep this up as well as dd's keep messing around tonight the jsut the thought of going up to see to them (yet again) brins tears to my eyes.

im not normally a complainer i promise

if you are in that much pain, you could try to see someone sooner

don;t worry about complaining, I had SPD, mildly, and it did wear off, and that was bad enough

mad4girls · 14/07/2007 21:38

think will see how i go on tomrrow coz my mw normally booked up for about 6 wks in advance so doubt id be able to speak to anyone sooner anyway,

thanx for advice ladies at do you know if any what treatmeant they offer

going for my bath now

I have SPD and it sounds like you have too. I would get to GP tomorrow morning and get referal to physio asap.
It does cause more leg cramps in me and i wake in the morning and feel like i have run a 100 miles
I have an SPD belt which helped for the first few weeks, but now very imobile and using crutches and wheelchair. This bad is not common so dont panic.
My only advice until then is rest, sleep with pillow between your knees to keep hips inline, and if it hurts, dont do it.
Good luck and CAT me if you need more help

hi lisa
the waking in the morning thing sounds familer and i did have these horrible aches for about 3 days 3wks ago but assumed it was because id done some bending when gardening, but felt almost the same.

feeling a bit better today a good night sleep helped, so di the bath just took me about 20 mintues to get out of the damn thing, tought i was going to freeze to death in their, was really painful getting in and out too,but we dont have a shower so not many options.

thanx for the advice

lol, i know the bath situation. Im now unable to bath at all without hubby being here as im unable to get out alone
We dont have a shower either. One trick for the bath, is if you have a small plastic step (the kind children use to reach sink) put that in the bath and sit on it, it makes it easier to get out
Let me know how you get on

that sounds like a good idea not sure it would take my weight though

do these referel things take a long time ?

My GP put urgent on mine, and still took 2 weeks. Guess it depends how busy the specialist physio is, its not the normal ones, its a obs one.
Goodluck
