I have read the what to expect when you are expecting and the daily pregnancy book, but was wondering if there are any other books that are good to read? Last dc is 5.5 so its been a while and I am sure there must be something new out that is a must read. Anyone reading something good?

Also, during my time it was Gina Ford for new baby books, but I think she is out, is there any new books to read for new babies?

I loved pregnancy for dummies. Really informative but also had some humour and was an enjoyable read.

Mindful hypnobirthing by Sophie fletcher or practical ways to make your birth better - siobhan Miller :)

I really liked Your Baby Week by Week. Pretty straightforward, to the point stuff. Quite a relaxed approach (I hated Gina Ford!).

I bought/was given a few and my favourite has probably been 'Your babycare bible-The most authoritative and up-to-date source book on caring for babies from birth to age three'.
Title says it all really Grin

I loved Expecting Better. Author is an economist and compiles a huge amount of data to explore norms and myths. I found it really reassuring.

Another for Expecting Better, and she has a new one coming out called Cribsheet about early years.

I had Bumpology. It looks at evidence based research on lots of aspects of pregnancy.

What to Expect When You're Expecting (5th edition) by Heidi Murkoff. It's like a pregnancy bible!

ChachiChichi · 17/04/2019 22:55

Clemmie Hooper - How to Grow a Baby (and push it out) is the best one I've read and I keep coming back to it.

I read Happy mum, happy baby by Giovanna Fletcher and really enjoyed it x

What mothers do by Naomi Stadlen. Best read once you have had the baby probably. But the most helpful book about motherhood I have read. By far.

Aria999 · 18/04/2019 01:42

Yes Expecting Better.

I recently read “Do Chocolate Lovers Have Sweeter Babies” if you like some light reading! Random pregnancy facts gathered by a science writer. All quite interesting!

bakingdemon · 18/04/2019 01:49

Another one for Expecting Better, the Clemmie Hooper one and Your Baby Week By Week.

Kokeshi123 · 18/04/2019 01:56

Science of Mom is in a similar vein to Expecting Better, but about the baby after it is born. It is really really good.

Sleep Lady book (Good Night Sleep Tight) is good too.
