Baby measuring 3 weeks bigger?!

Hi,
So at a 25w scan, baby was weighing 937g which according to research is 28w. Does this mean baby is actually perhaps further on than we thought? Or just huge? Do they sometimes slow down or is it going to be big?

The weight you found would be average for that gestation, in the pregnancy notes there will be a personalised graph for the babies weight plotted against maternal height and weight at booking in. It's impossible to say if baby is actually 3 weeks ahead in growth, because it might be 50th percentile for your weight/height ratio at 25weeks.

Growth scans are also notoriously unreliable, the weight is calculated based on 3 measurements which are really hard to get accurate, and the sonographer will often measure until they get a measurement that fits your gestation. If baby was really that much bigger than they expected, they'd have said something, so it's not a cause for concern in itself. If you have another growth scan you can plot more than one set of measurements and this will give you an idea of the growth rate, even if it's still not going to give you the answer you want...
