Transverse baby at 35 weeks and throughout entire pregnancy

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this? I have a midwife appointment on Wednesday, and I'm guessing my mw will refer me for a scan.
If other people had this did your baby still turn by your due date?
Mine has been either breech or transverse for the last 8 weeks at least. Thinking that there must be a good reason preventing him from turning head down?

No advice but I'm interested in this as I'm in the exact same position. If mine is still transverse on Wed week I'm going to be admitted.

Yes mine was still transverse til 37weeks. I swam, did the birthing ball non stop and did handstands in the pool...got him turned so keep trying all those sorts of things!

My daughter was breech up until 36 weeks. I did the exercises recommended by the spinning babies website

This was me a few years ago. Midwives struggled to detect how DD was lying (I've had a lot of abdominal surgery, so there's a fair bit of scar tissue to feel through), and at 36 weeks I was sent for a scan - she was transverse. I had ECV (she was turned manually), which the consultant commented was easier than normal. It was initially successful, but she turned back (to transverse) that night. I was admitted to hospital at 37+5 in case I went into labour, and she was delivered by elcs at 39+1 (I never showed any signs of labour). I was monitored daily in hospital, and she managed every possible position despite there being no excess fluid. No medical reason was given. So prepare yourself for an elcs; I understand being admitted beforehand varies by trust.

ECV (turning) has a 50% success rate for breech babies, but lower for transverse - if they are more 'comfortable' that way round, they'll probably go back that way.

I would get on your hands and knees and rock from side to side, plus do some 'cat/cow' yoga moves as much as you can. Also any walking and sit forward in your chair too. Are you sat down a lot at the moment?

A friend of mine had a breech baby during labour but it turned when giving birth so there is hope!

Yes and mine didn't turn, so we booked an elcs. Great decision and a very relaxed birth and day. She's 13 now.

Mine literally turned a few hours ago. Bump changed shape and everything. She just turned back. Gah!!

gemwhitt · 16/04/2019 08:25

@Blackboot1 - wow! Is it that obvious when they turn? I've been looking to see if my bump has changed shape but it looks the same.
Thanks for all the replies ladies. I've been doing all the spinning babies tricks - hanging off the edge of the sofa etc!
It's my last day at work today so will have more time to crawl around on all fours at home, and less sitting in a chair.
I wouldn't mind a c-sect at all, but just wondering if midwife will make me wait longer before deciding. Will let you know what she says tomorrow!

I don't think so usually but this was a sudden and uncomfortable turn. Instead of legs and head poking out the sides I could feel them under my sternum and down in my pelvis. It didn't last which might be why it was so uncomfortable.
This is my second. My abdominal muscles are a lot slacker I think. I can really feel every kick and turn. Sometimes very painful. Much more so than last time.

I too can tell when baby has moved position when he's made a big move! But mine also keeps going between breech and transverse. The shape of the bump changes.
At my latest scan the doctor was interested in where the placenta is, I have a low lying anterior placenta and he's hoping this will move upwards to make room for the baby. At the minute the placenta is on my lower right side, and I have a big empty pocket on my lower left side cos baby doesn't want to go there!
