How protected are our little ones in early pregnancy?

I was sat on the other day, I was face down to the ground and a man of around 15st was sitting on my back. There was a lot of struggling going on. I’ve been worried about miscarrying after that and my cousin said to me “you’d be surprised how much protection they have in there”. He was sat very low on my back. I’m about 5”2 weighing 59kg. Will baby be okay?

I’m 13 weeks today.

Why on earth did that happen?

MarthasGinYard · 15/04/2019 00:28

What happened there?

I'd go for a scan to put my mind at rest but baby very protected.

Neverbroken · 15/04/2019 00:43

Because he’s abusive. The day before I’d gone for my 12 week scan we saw heartbeat and baby jiggling away. Also found out it may have been twins we saw two sacs but the one never started to grow anything. The nurse said this will disappear on its own and shouldn’t affect current pregnancy. NHS said they wouldn’t scan me because I had had one the day before and didn’t have any bleeding or severe pain. And private clinics weren’t available so waiting game.

Get out now

That's horrifying

Neverbroken · 15/04/2019 00:46

I’m out well more like he’s out.

You need to find somewhere safe and report him to the police

AlunWynsKnee · 15/04/2019 00:48

They're quite protected now. If he tries that at say 28 weeks it's going to be a different story.
Leaving now would be a very good move.

MarthasGinYard · 15/04/2019 00:50

That's good

Never let him near you or your baby again

Explain to your midwife you are really worried see if she can help re scan

Private clinics often do next day if you can afford it

VimFuego101 · 15/04/2019 00:54

I had several chiropractic sessions with someone leaning their full weight on me while I lay on my stomach - all was fine. I hope you get the hell out of this situation.

Neverbroken · 15/04/2019 01:31

Police are aware and have put marker on my flat. Midwife knows I should be seeing her in the week. The private one that I can afford doesn’t have many appointments (probably due to the good rates so I have to wait a little). I went to A&E they did nothing but feel my belly and make me do a urine sample which they then threw away without testing for anything.

Vim that is very reassuring and makes me feel better thank you!

Get rid and stay rid. That's the best way to protect you and the baby.

Good luck.

PBobs · 15/04/2019 02:26

Sounds awful. Glad you got rid of him. This early I don't know that it would make too much difference. I'm surprised re the urine sample. Is it possible they just did the dip stick test? That's a 10s job and you probably wouldn't notice them doing it.

Smotheroffive · 15/04/2019 02:27

Can he get back in again? Are the police aware he did this?

The baby is still inside your pelvis, so protected by bone at the moment as well as all the muscle and soft tissue

Neverbroken · 15/04/2019 03:01

I was surprised about the urine sample too, no he literally said we don’t need this and threw it away infront of me.

No, I’ll be leaving the alarm on during the day when i go to work and when I’m here I lock the door the with door bolt on (it looks like it’s a chain lock but has bar instead of an actual chain). Police are aware and have marker on my flat so there’s a quicker response time.

Thank god!

Hmmm. Weird on the urine although I'm not sure what it would tell him about the pregnancy to be honest. I guess if there was blood in it or something? Sounds like they just want to leave it under the care of a midwife. If there's no pain, spotting, bleeding or other symptoms I would think you're doing OK.

Neverbroken · 15/04/2019 16:42

Thanks Pbobs x
